Zehrs Pen Centre

For a company making record high profits, they can't hire more cashiers? This was on Thursday morning, Feb. 12, but quite often on other days it's only one cashier and several people in line.

The sign in the store says “You’re important to us!” I think not - not so much for me but for my senior parents. We visit every Thursday morning, which is senior day in local stores. For whatever reason, this store chooses to have only ONE cashier on duty, regardless of whether there are 2 things in your order or a cart full. The cashier also usually bags the groceries, further slowing things down, even though it’s a nice thing to do. A “change counter” further slowed things down this morning so that our $8.00 of items turned into a 15 minute wait, along with 10 other seniors. My 94 year old father usually goes to sit by the door on a mobility scooter while I wait it out with my mother. Wake up management! Seniors won’t use your self check out no matter how big you make the signs! Stop cheaping out on cashiers at the very least, on Seniors day!
