Terrible experience coming to Canada. Law abiding Canadian citizen targeted by Canadian border agent for discrimination and harassment. Would not recommend using this gateway.
View on GoogleThis bridge is a spandrel braced, riveted, two-hinged arch bridge. The bridge is a NEXUS only bridge. Amtrak Maple Leaf pass through the bridge daily in each direction. The Whirlpool Rapids Bridge, built around its predecessor, was completed in 1897 by engineer Leffert L. Buck, who also designed the first international suspension bridge in North America on the same site in 1855. The new bridge was initially called the Lower Arch Bridge and supported pedestrian, carriage, and later, train traffic. It was renamed the Whirlpool Rapids Bridge in 1939 and is still in use today.
View on GoogleLove it! No lines ever. If you have Nexus, this is the spot to go through.
View on GoogleThis bridge Is a must if you have nexus and everyone in your vehicle has nexus. If not understand you cannot use this bridge. It’s a bit out of the way but could save you a ton of time if the bridges are backed up. Reminder this is a NEXUS ONLY bridge. Fast and friendly border agents!
View on GoogleI had just come from the boat ride at Niagara Falls on the Canadian side and gone past the massive traffic queue for the Rainbow Bridge, so I was very curious as to why there's absolutely NO ONE waiting to cross over on the Whirlpool Rapids Bridge. Standing there and wondering, one of the Canadian customs officers asked if I needed any help so I asked why there's no queue here. He very politely (aren't all Canadians polite?) explained that not only is this bridge for non-commercial traffic, it is also limited to only NEXUS card holders. So if that's you and you've seen the massive wait for the Rainbow Bridge, come on down to the Whirlpool Bridge for a very quick crossing!
