West Park Health Centre

I wanted to take a moment to tell you about Westpark... From the outside it doesn't look like much, it needs a paint job and some superficial work done to it, however what makes this place a 5* is the way they treat their residents. My dad was here for 18 months, during that time his care was amazing. My dad was blind and had dementia, he needed assistance with every aspect of his day, from dressing to eating and the PSWs, the nurses and the support staff are all fantastic. They have multiple activities throughout the day and they made sure my dad was included in all programs they had and they ensured he was well taken care of. Kennedy and his team go above and beyond for their residents. So do not judge a book by its cover... this place has wonderful staff and residents. Look beyond the paint and repairs needed when looking for a place for your loved ones, just because a place is pretty doesn't mean the care will be good. This place has the people who make it a home.

As a recent visitor to this facility I found it to be very disappointing with the overall appearance at West Park. Not the most welcoming walk up to the main doors as the area was littered with cigarette butts. Trying to access the door which was secured there was no direction how to call for assistance. The main foyer was dark and had worn down furniture. The main nursing station had fly paper traps hanging down. A fresh paint on the walls and soothing artwork would be a good start. Seriously get a broom and clean up the main walkway.Do better for residents and staff.

Our mom was here for a year. She got top notch care, was always treated with dignity and respect. They included her in things and tried to keep her active until she passed. I'm so thankful for the team at West Park and the staff taking care of her.

Nothing but positive things to say about West park. The staff is always very friendly and catering too all the residents needs. They maintain a positive attitude and the residents I’ve met over the year have had a lot of compliments towards the establishment and staff. It’s not the largest Long term Care facility, but smaller is certainly better as someone is always around to tend to any needs. Highly recommend West Park LTC

I can't say enough good things about ALL the staff at West Park. The care my SIL received was far better then we expected. You always hear the negative stories but rarely the good ones when you have to place a loved one in a LTC home. My SIL was down syndrome with dementia and was not easy to care for in the last year. From management to psws they all took the extra time to give her the care that she needed. To anyone that is considering this home for their loved one, look past that the building is outdated. The care inside is much more important. Thank you West Park for helping us care for Dana. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
