Dr. Derek is quite simply the best vet I’ve ever known. He is incredibly knowledgeable, and I have complete trust in his assessments. He went above and beyond the call of duty to manage my cat Storm’s diabetes - reviewing our logs, adjusting treatment, and suggesting diet changes that put Storm into remission within months. Beyond his medical skill, his compassion is unmatched. He helped us navigate Storm’s final months with a nasal tumor with such grace. Even though we had to say goodbye to Storm last Friday, I find peace knowing he had the best possible care. Thank you to Dr. Derek and the wonderful staff at Virgil Animal Hospital.

We couldn't be happier with our experience at Virgil Animal Hospital. Dr. Locking was incredible—she was so patient with our wiggly Golden Retriever and took the time to listen and explain everything thoroughly without making us feel rushed. You can tell she really cares about animals. After our previous clinic was bought out by a corporation, we really missed the personal touch. Virgil Animal Hospital is a breath of fresh air; it lacks that 'salesy' corporate feel and focuses truly on care. They even managed to squeeze us in the same day when a last-minute eye concern popped up during his annual exam window. We are so glad we made the switch - Thank you!

Every time we’re there for an appointment, we feel truly welcomed. The doctors are warm, knowledgeable, and friendly, and I always feel confident in their expertise. It means so much to know we’re making the right choices for our dog, Evie.

Everything about this visit and the follow-up were 5 star. The receptionist were friendly and helpful and Dr Derek made our dog, Nellie, feel calm and well taken care of. I truly appreciated the time and attention the Dr. gave us. I highly recommend the Virgil Animal Hospital!
