I had such a great experience at Vine Automotive! From the moment I walked in, Trevor was friendly, welcoming, and took the time to really explain what was going on with my car. I appreciated how clear he was about what needed to be fixed right away and what I could safely hold off on for a few months. It’s rare to find a shop that’s this honest. You can tell Trevor truly values long-term relationships with his customers rather than trying to make as much money as possible in one visit. I left feeling informed, respected, and confident in the work being done. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend Vine Auto to anyone looking for transparent, trustworthy service.

Amazing service! Trevor provided some of the clearest communication I’ve ever experienced at an auto shop. He walked me through everything step-by-step, explained what was essential for my car’s safety, and even pointed out a couple of things I could wait to fix later when it made more sense for my budget. That level of honesty is hard to come by. What really stood out to me was how friendly and approachable he was—you can tell he genuinely cares about people, not just the transaction. It’s refreshing to deal with a mechanic who puts trust and long-term customer relationships first. Vine Automotive has definitely earned my loyalty.

I usually don’t write negative reviews, but my experience here was so disappointing and unprofessional that I feel obligated to warn others before they waste their time and money like I did. From the moment I arrived, the communication was terrible. The mechanic, Trevor, had a noticeably rude tone, unfriendly attitude, and unwelcoming facial expressions as if speaking to a customer was an inconvenience. Instead of explaining things clearly or showing basic respect, he acted like he was doing me a favor just by acknowledging me. I specifically asked if he could give me a quick 5–10 minute check on the gearbox before I decided whether to proceed with a full safety inspection. He agreed. Instead, I ended up waiting over an hour and a half with zero updates. When I finally asked what was going on, he suddenly claimed there were “cars in the lineup” and that I had to wait my turn something he never mentioned when I first asked for the quick check. He could have simply told me from the beginning, but instead he wasted my time with absolutely no communication. Then came the pricing. They quoted me $250 for the safety inspection far higher than what most shops charge in Ontario — and then tried to up sell an additional $600 of “repairs,” including bulbs and wipers that were already working perfectly. The only real issue was a single bar link, but they inflated the list to make the final number look bigger. This kind of exaggerated quoting tells you everything about their business model. And it didn’t stop there. When I refused the repairs and decided to take my car, I discovered they had left the gearbox housing screw partially out and not tightened**, which can cause further issues. Worse, when I started the car, the ABS light suddenly came on, even though it was not on before I arrived. Instead of apologizing or checking what he caused, Trevor rushed to hook up a portable computer to reset the system just to make the warning light disappear — clearly trying to cover the mistake rather than fix it properly. I walked in with a car that had one issue and walked out with wasted time, wasted money, and more problems caused by their carelessness. This shop lacks proper communication, customer respect, transparency, and basic professionalism. If you value your time and your car, I strongly recommend going elsewhere. There are plenty of honest mechanics in Ontario — this place is not one of them.

Avoid Vine Automotive! Go to literally any other garage. Took my 10-year old truck with only 110 000km on it to have a wheel bearing replaced and never got to take the truck home after. The new owner, Trevor took it out after it was repaired and got into an accident at the Vine St. South/Welland Ave. intersection. He refused to answer the insurance company’s question “what colour was the light you went through”, but the cameras caught him turning off a side street and blatantly running the red. Not only could he have killed someone, but both vehicles were total losses; neither one his own. Because of the shop owner, I now have a car payment and increased insurance rates because they cost more to insure. Such a fall from grace for this shop; certainly not honest and trustworthy. I’d advise against letting your family get into a vehicle serviced here since he’s been in charge. Go someplace else!
