This value village has some of the most ridiculous prices I’ve seen at local thrift stores. They are getting these items for FREE and jacking up the prices. Underprivileged people and poor people RELY on stores like these to be able to buy items at prices they can afford, but value village is GREEDY and prices items beyond what is reasonable. For example, prices of men’s button up short sleeve shirts range from 8.99 to over 20$. Over 20$ for a non-brand name shirt. The pricing is not consistent, and is reflective of corporate GREED. I am honestly disgusted and not surprised in the slightest that people steal from this store. I hope you realize low income people rely on you and you are failing your community. Shame on you.
View on GoogleNot sure why the staff here have to be so miserable. If you don't like dealing with the public, then pick a different line of work. While shopping there this morning, I found a very big and heavy brass/metal floor lamp that I wanted to purchase. I asked a staff member if they could put it aside for me while I finished shopping because it was too big to fit in my cart. She seemed very irritated and said that I could put it aside if I wanted to but she wasn't going to be responsible for it 🙄 - this isn't the first time I've felt uncomfortable in that store. As soon as you enter the store you can feel the tension.
View on GoogleNo very good visit. I bring quite few items to cashier, pay for it and they offer one paper bag with a big "kindness", I asked for one more and lady told me I have to pay for it. She stated very strongly this is for profit store. Very poor customer service. Then I decided to not take the items and ask her to cancel transaction, the response from her was even worse. No returns!!! Finally she cannel the transaction with full anger. I did not see such poor customer service for long time. I am done with this store.
View on GoogleThis Value Village has lots of amazing thrift finds and is usually bursting at the seams with product. The only issue is the pricing seems too high for the average thrift shopper. I am sure the prices are fine for the flippers and re-sellers, but it is too much for the families buying used clothes or shoes for their kids. You can really tell this is a for-profit store unlike other thrift shops in the area. Additionally, they appear to have gotten rid of all their cashiers. It is self checkout only now and the last two times I visited they only had two of the self-checkouts open (they have 6 or 8 total). All the while the line up of people is growing and two staff members just stood there. This is while a supervisor/manager opened a till and cashed out two employees. That left a bad taste in my mouth. Perhaps open another self checkout when you see a line up of four or more people? At one point in my 15-minute wait in line it appeared an employee opened a till and when the lady in front of me went to use it a manager said “THAT”S CLOSED” even though the screen was on and the lady was about to scan her items. Do better VV.
View on GoogleFound a perfect table to hold my microwave for only $17. Very happy and greatful. (Cause most microwave stands are over $100).
