We had a great dinner! Our starters were freshly made tortilla chips. One plate with 3 salsas (smoky roasted red salsa was the favourite) and the other with fresh guacamole. We added chicharron (6 big pieces of fried pork belly). Mains were enchilada mixto - 4 corn tortillas stuffed with nicely grilled chicken. Half covered in mild, slightly sweet red sauce, the other half in tangy green sauce, topped with melted Oaxaca cheese & crema. Other main was 3 tacos. You can mix and match most for the same price. Favourite was the lengua (rich chopped tongue), next the plump shrimp, and finally the birria with dipping broth. The plate came with red and green salsas and chopped onions & cilantro. We also had yuca fries on the side were a terrific alternative to regular fries. The portions are more filling than you might think. Lots of gluten free, too. The service is great and all the food very fresh! The restaurant is a former retro diner so still retains that look. Co-owned La Paisana Latin Grocery is just a few doors down so all the ingredients are authentic.
View on GoogleIt was the Thursday after a work conference in Niagara, my colleague and I were googling places for a greasy diner breakfast. Triple D’s came highly recommended - without actually doing much research we made our way over. Let me tell you to have accidentally stumbled upon the delightful menu of La Paisana was the absolute highlight of our day. The dreams of a greasy diner breakfast went out the window and we had moved on to trying to decide how many meals were acceptable for two women to order. Everything was so good, I even ordered a few things to go. A must try if you’re in Niagara!
View on GoogleBeautiful brunch! Delicious food and friendly staff! I’ve been before while it was the previous owners and now with la paisana. Both times delicious!
View on GoogleTriple D’s Diner by La Paisana is definitely a departure from what Triple D’s used to be—in the best way! Authentic Mexican breakfasts and meals make it a real standout in the region. They’ve kept a few Triple D’s classics, like pancakes and waffles, but it’s so refreshing to see a restaurant offering something different that’s true to its cultural roots. The chilaquiles (think breakfast nachos) are phenomenal, and the enchiladas, tacos, and tortas are all worth trying. Do yourself a favour—go explore something deliciously different. There are a million places to get eggs benny, but you won’t find this kind of authentic Mexican flavour anywhere else!
