The Write Bookshop

Undoubtedly my favourite place in St Catharines, if not all of Niagara. I would recommend this place to anyone. You don't need to be an avid reader to find treasure here. They have absolutely everything. You can find new bestsellers, hidden gems over 100 years old, game guides, manga, how to's, obscure romance or fantasy. You name it, they have it. Couple this with the owners who complete the experience. You can tell they put their heart into this place. If you are struggling to find something, they can guide you through the enchanting maze of books to the authors collection. All with the kind of warmth other establishments could learn a lot from. Check this place out. You won't be disappointed.

This is my FAVOURITE BOOKSTORE EVER. If you can think of it, they have it! The owner is incredibly kind and will always give you the best deal. It’s ran by a family and has been there perhaps forever. I cannot express the atmosphere of this bookstore other than it is like stepping into a different realm. It’s so peaceful and the second floor is insane. (In a good way) you have to check out this bookstore if you’re in st.Catharines and if you’re not—add it to your travel list!!!

There is nothing pretentious about this downtown St. Catharines bookshop; it just knows books, how to find books, and how to make it a real browsing and out of the ordinary experience. You could actually spend days in this place - both floors - crammed with books. This place is for people who don't want to pay Amazon/Indigo prices and enjoy looking through books you never even knew existed. It can be dusty, books can be stacked in aisles, but the beauty is in sifting through all those titles, not seeing every book perfectly placed upon a shelf next to displays of beauty products and overpriced household items. If you love old books and old bookshops, this is your place!

It would seem that any book you could think of might be here. I suggest to anyone, if you have a specific book in mind, please come here before buying your book new. Support a local business and you'll find it cheaper here As you can tell from all the pictures and videos, this place is almost a labyrinth of books. I love it. It's a treasure trove, really. I was enamored by it. I was visiting from out of town, the next time I'm in St Catherines I'll be coming here again

Love this place!!! Can’t recommend it enough. All the staff I’ve met are super friendly and helpful, especially the older guy, he somehow knows where everything is and if he has a popular book or not. It’s so easy to spend hours in here just looking at everything! Some aisles are a bit cramped and it’s not wheelchair or stroller friendly, but that’s just because they have too many books for the relatively small building. Books are super cheap too, and if you buy multiple there’s a discount. You could probably barter if you wanted as well.
