The Upper Deck TapHouse + Grill

We went to The Upper Deck for dinner and were pleasantly surprised! With new ownership there’s a new menu, new ownership, great vibe and late hours! Jacqueline served us she was fantastic, as well as the other staff. Food, well let me say absolutely delicious, we had Korean BBQ tacos, beef dip sliders and jalapeño popper dip. There are great food and drink specials after 8 and now open late! We will be back again and again!👏👍

My father and I went for dinner last night (a Sunday) I had the Balsamic grilled chicken. The mashed potatoes were horrible, dried out and no flavour. The mashed squash was not any better. My chicken was tasty but the sauce was so minuscule I could barely taste it. When asked how everything was, I said not very good. I don’t like to complain but I had to. The waitress was very apologetic and brought us some stir fried veggies to make up for the squash. I asked for some gravy to make the potatoes edible. My Father had the Buttermilk fried chicken, the chicken was good. It was supposed to come with chicken gravy but there was none, so we asked for gravy. He did not like the mashed potatoes or mashed squash either, and believe me he eats anything! On a better note the Ceasar salad was delicious! We were given a discount which we appreciated. Unfortunately I don’t think we would go back.

Just got the fish and chips for lunch and it was amazing! Fish cooked perfectly and the sauce and coleslaw were on point. Had the fries with chipotle mayo and it was perfect! Amazing Staff and service! Thank you!

This is what I consider our neighbourhood restaurant and we normally really like stopping for lunch or dinner. In the summertime, the view on the back patio is great and the service we have received for all of our visits has always been excellent. Recently they had menu changes (they have done that several times over the years we have been coming) but we weren’t impressed with the changes when we stopped in December. Pretty much all of our favourites were gone and the new items we tried were not good. My husband had the steak sandwich which was a bit underwhelming - nothing special and served on a hotdog bun (on a good note, I hear they have improved the bread now after all the feedback). He definitely was not impressed with the flavour either. I am a vegetarian and decided to try their ratatouille and couldn’t really eat more than a few bites - the vegetables tasted bitter and the rice was extremely dry. For a dish that could be so full of flavours this was just a miss for me. Our favourite dessert from their menu used to be their Oreo cheesecake in a jar, we were told that now is gone and after disappointing meals we just decided not to try another dessert, paid and left. I want to say we will consider giving it another try as we know how important it is to support our local businesses and perhaps just these particular meal options we tried that evening were not the best. We certainly have had some great meals here. We just hope they take our feedback and go back to offering some stellar meal choices again.

My mom and I had an awesome lunch here today. The food was absolutely amazing, we both loved our meals. Our server was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. It was such a great way to spend time together and make some memories. Thank you for a fantastic dining experience.
