The perfect English style pub. It’s got the history that sets an ambiance that you can feel when you’re inside. Food is great, tasty selections on tap. I always like to get a beer flight at new places to try all the different varieties on tap!
View on GoogleOrdered Steak and onion pie, wife ordered Chicken peach pie. Both came with peas and some pieces of carrot and fries. 1. The carrots must have been cooked yesterday, they were cold. The canned peas almost made the warm category. 2. The Steak and onion pie was tasteless, I mean basically some beef cubes in gravel and the patty topping was as tasteful as a half hot dog bun left on a counter for three days! The Chicken peach pie was a 3 minute prep dish, same half hot dog bun on top, dry and tasteless. The chips were fine, the beer fine, the waitress polite and helpful. For a $100 lunch, a sad excuse for a meal. First and last visit to the Angel Inn.
View on GoogleI really wanted to love this spot after hearing all the praise, but each food item was just so slightly disappointing. The crab cakes had such an incredibly faint flavour of crab, that for a few minutes I thought we had received a vegetarian substitute. The sauces overpower the flavour even more. It took forever for the fisherman’s pie to cool down, while the liver and onions could have been warmer. The Caesar salad …… it looked like it was completely bare of dressing, so I asked our lovely waitress for a side of extra dressing. Once I put it on top and started eating, I quickly discovered that the salad actually had plenty dressing, it was just completely hidden by the top layer of lettuce ??? Why. $100 meal for two for mediocre food is really disappointing. I really wanted to love this spot. The atmosphere is incredible, and the wait staff are attentive and kind.
View on GoogleThis is a great authentic British pub. The bangers and mash are excellent. The beer selection is proper - they have 28 taps available, at last count, with a couple ciders as well. Bands play here every weekend, including really good bands like the Midnight Sons. Overall, this place is well worth the visit.
View on GoogleA timeless gem in the heart of Niagara-on-the-Lake. My wife and I absolutely love The Olde Angel Inn. From our home just across the border, it’s a quick hop to this historic spot for a meal — and always worth the trip. A few steps off Queen Street, the Inn delivers consistently great upscale pub food, generous portions, and a warm, cozy atmosphere that feels like stepping back into its 18th-century roots. The staff here is stellar: friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Everything comes out hot, flavorful, and satisfying. The building itself is part of the charm — hand-hewn beams, creaky floors, and a sense of history that stays with you long after the meal. Highly recommend for anyone visiting NOTL. A local favorite for us, and a place we’ll keep coming back to.
