The Gate House

Our wedding at The Gate House on June 20th was everything we dreamed of and more — thanks to the incredible team at 124 on Queen Hotel & Spa, Treadwell Cuisine, and our coordinator Melanie. Melanie was a joy to work with — responsive, detail-oriented, and genuinely invested in making our day perfect. She guided us through every step with calm professionalism, helped bring our vision to life, and went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly on the big day. The venue itself was absolutely stunning — elegant, intimate, and perfectly located in the heart of Niagara-on-the-Lake. And the food by Treadwell Cuisine was unbelievable. Every bite was delicious and beautifully plated. From cocktail hour canapés to the late-night bites, it was flawless. Thank you to the entire team for making our wedding unforgettable. Thank you to all the staff at The Gate House who made our wedding day so special. Julianna our coordinator who worked with us on that day was fabulous! Wedding days go by so quickly and can be stressful to coordinate but the team at 124 on Queen & The Gate House made it so easy. Our bartenders were amazing, the serving staff & everyone behind the scenes. Originally we wanted to elope but when we toured this venue we fell in love!! The food, the drinks & the vibe is so good! We got loads of compliments on everything. We had a 60 person wedding & it was absolutely perfect.

We couldn’t have asked for a better wedding venue than The Gate House & 124 Queen Hotel! The staff was an absolute dream to work with—so organized, professional, and attentive to every detail. They made everything run smoothly, which let us fully enjoy our day without any worries. But let me just rave about the food—wow! It was phenomenal! Our guests are still talking about how amazing everything tasted. From the appetizers to the main course, each dish was perfectly prepared, beautifully presented, and absolutely bursting with flavour. Highly recommend the seafood station and the espresso martinis - true stars of the show. The quality of the food was truly next-level, and it completely exceeded our expectations. Honestly, it was some of the best food we’ve ever had, and it really made the night unforgettable! If you're looking for a venue with an exceptional team and food that will blow your guests away, The Gate House is the place. We couldn’t be happier with our choice!

The Gatehouse was the perfect venue for our intimate late fall/ 'winter' wedding. NOTL was still filled with beautiful fall colours and mild weather for our Nov 4, 2023 wedding day. The gatehouse staff were so welcoming and had everything ready for the day. We were able to have our rehearsal ahead of time in the space, and meet some of the staff. The food at the Gatehouse was arguably the best part. All of our guests boasted it was the best food by far they have had at a wedding. We do not disagree, the menu tasting was one of the most delicious decisions we had to make. The outdoor wedding space is arguably the better option, for ceremony spaces, however when it came to comfort it was a great option to have the ceremony inside the Gatehouse. Erin the wedding/ event coordinator for went above and beyond to accommodate and make our wedding day special. We are so thankful for the care she takes in her weddings it does not go unnoticed. A note for couples, the Gatehouse does not have a space for getting ready unless you book the rooms for the night before. This is a bummer if you are not planning to stay over the night before but wish to get dressed onsite.

Our family enjoyed a delicious dinner on the outdoor patio. The chef made sure our son had a safe, allergy free meal which was given a thumbs up for one of the best burgers he has ever had! The large portions meant we had leftovers that we took with us just up the stairs to our room as we were staying at 124 on Queen Hotel and Spa. It was the perfect meal to end our long weekend and first trip since the pandemic started 18 months ago.
