The Exchange - Cultural Hub & Market

This building was such a waste of tax dollars and such a sorry excuse of a "hub". The space is supposed to go back into the community and be used to host events for local artists, and I can promise you they don't care about local artists at all. It is not a cultural hub whatsoever, and myself and many other local artists in the city agree that the events are unorganized and "customer service" is completely lacking. After the Deck The Halls Christmas market (a whole other nightmare), Chetan and Christine don't even reply to emails or feedback. Perhaps this will catch their attention - but probably not. I can't speak to other artists experiences, but for Deck The Halls, there is a main vendor hall and 4 randomly placed vendors in a blank room for the museum. There was no signage indicating our absence from the main market so we put some "More vendor" signs up ourselves to help flow of traffic. City employees ripped down the signage 3x and refused to work with us to generate more traffic into the room we were in. People would come in for Santa and then leave. Employees would often berate people for trying to come in the room because of the line up to get in for Santa. All vendors were agreeable that the turnout for ourselves was not equal and asked if there was anything we could do (line up for Santa inside the hall, more signage, move us to the no show spaces available in the main hall, or even a partial refund of vending fee due to lack of accessibility). Absolutely nothing. What a joke. When other vendors complained, Christine lacked all skills to deescalate and said "she cant force people to shop!" But how about making it accessible? You wouldn't have an event without local businesses. Do better Niagara! Thanks!
View on GoogleIt’s a place designed for fashion shows, with an entrance area where the show takes place and another section for dining. Overall, it was a good experience.
View on GoogleAlthough I have heard about this community maker space for years, I had never attended until tonight when I had the honor of going to a "paint like Bob Ross" (hosted by our instructor Bobbi) class of about 35 people, and we learned how to paint a Pacific coastline seascape in two and a half hours last night and it was such a positive experience. The room were used was large and very well lit, had a great audio-visual system hooked up so it was easy to see and hear the instructor, lots of space, clean, perfect. The facility also has a cafe and a woodworking area and other rooms, elevator, washrooms etc, what a neat spot. People of Niagara Falls are so lucky to have this, kind of a shame it's in an area of town that not a lot of locals usually go to.
View on GoogleApril 12th, my very good friend and I went to The Exchange for the return of the Paw’p-Up Shop: Pet + Vendor Market! Around 20 vendors selling pup scarves, jewelry, jackets, raincoats, treats, etc. The Exchange is a huge building in The Falls housing a plethora of events. Look online for various events everyday. After looking at what the vendors offered Carol purchased a couple of things. We then looked at the Art on display on the walls. Very talented artists using various techniques and styles showcasing their talent. A nice day.
View on GoogleThis is an excellent venue for exhibitions, fairs, and festivals. It is conveniently located near the city center, close to major attractions. The facility is new, thoughtfully designed, with clean restrooms, fully functioning heating and ventilation systems, good lighting, and ample parking. As a vendor, I found it a pleasure to participate in the market and work in such a well-organized and comfortable environment. I highly recommend this venue for both event organizers and visitors
