The District Tapas+Bar

My wife and I were so looking forward to this dinner, the menu and space looked amazing and reviews were decent enough to have hope of a great meal but it feel short in every way. There is SO much potential but the food was all poorly executed (3 of the 4 bao buns had hard, inedible spots on them). The burger in the Big Mac Bao was way overcooked and the lettuce was soggy and gross. The Jerk Duck tacos needed to be simplified as the toppings took away the jerk flavour. Worst of all was the service, it was awful and at 8pm on Saturday, we were the only table in there. Standing at the bar were 2 servers, some random guy that was drinking and smoking w the staff and some guy, who looked like a manager or owner that did NOTHING to ensure decent service. We were not checked on once, asked if we needed another drink or anything, unless it was when a dish was being brought. It was 15 min from sitting down until anyone came over (there were 3 other tables at this time). Overall, SO much potential and just terrible execution. The atmosphere could be amazing also, but overall its dingy and dirty (look at the floor, baseboards etc).

Glad to see that the Saint Catherines location continues to offer brunch! We came from Hamilton for a family meal and enjoyed our time at The District.

The District has a laid back vibe, with graffiti on the walls and 90s Hip Hop playing in the background. They have a creative mixologist with lots of interesting and unique cocktails. The food is amazing. Highly recommend it.

So funky, fun, friendly and VERY delicious. Service was top notch. A great night out 😍🥂

My first time going here, and definitely not the last! We were only here for brunch, and they had lots of options. I’d love to see what they have for their regular menu. Lots of vegetarian options and a few vegan ones aswell
