The Diner Bistro is a real gem in Grimsby. It is a small restaurant that has been a busy local spot for years. Their all day breakfast is excellent with everything made to order and I particularly like the quality of the bacon they use. The burgers are really awesome and definitely a must have. The thick grass fed beef patties are excellent. The fries are also very good and the portion of gravy on the side is large enough to be shared by two people. I also like how they use one giant ice cube for their drinks which is a nice touch. The restaurant is clean and the environment is very friendly. The staff are well informed and ensure you feel comfortable throughout your meal. My only suggestion to the ownership is to provide more gluten free options. There is a high demand for it and having these options would be a real benefit for the business. It is also important to ensure the staff are well versed in gluten free requirements. For example they should know if the bacon is gluten free and be aware that a fryer used for gluten products is not considered gluten free. Overall it is a great place that I highly appreciate.
View on GoogleGreat hidden spot in Grimsby. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Pancakes are huge (gonna need 2 syrups), great Hamburgers and Pizza. Look for the Esso on Main Street near the Escarpment. I forgot to take photos of my pancakes so I guess I’ll have to go back.
View on GoogleCame in for the usual amazing banquet burger and was surprised to see that they had a special Valentine’s Day price fix dinner option. It was amazing! Super generous portions and delicious. Home made cannolis topped it all off.
View on GoogleEverything you want in a local diner Ample parking, adjacent the Happy One Stop Gas Station. The menu is solid, all the breakfast foods you’re looking for. A solid variety of burgers, pizza, and pasta. Enough but not too much to hinder quality. We came for breakfast but we’re instructed to try the burgers. SO GOOD! Made with ground beef from the Fifty Point Market, with real cheddar. My son had the fries which appeared to be hand cut, the poutine gravy was good and the curds THICK. I opted for the Caesar salad, which was dressed with real bacon pieces. Very good. Our server was very warm and friendly, very efficient t without being pushy at all. It was very busy during our stay - obviously a very popular spot, we can see why!
View on GoogleWe come here regularly with my Aunt and they know her and her well. The chicken parm sandwich or dinner is the best I’ve had anywhere. Puts a few high end Niagara Italian restaurants to shame . Ribs, lasagna, pizza and fish and chips are all very good too. Good portions. Staff are friendly and attentive . Kind of don’t want to share this hidden gem for fear it will become too busy but they deserve it.
