Strada West

I’ve visited several times now, and unfortunately I still haven’t had a good meal here. The cod portion is very small — you really need to order the two-piece. It also comes breaded, which isn’t indicated on the menu and was unexpected. The risotto it's served on is mushy and had the consistency of baby food. The bacon cheeseburger was one of the worst burgers I’ve had. It was overcooked and piled so high with bacon that grease was dripping off the bun. I sent it back because it was just so gross. The chicken burger was equally disappointing — messy and bone dry. The espresso was burnt and even had coffee grounds in the cup. At this point, investing in a commercial Nespresso machine would likely provide more consistency. For the price, you would expect much more for what you pay. On a positive note, the servers have been kind and understanding each time. I can only imagine they spend a lot of time sending plates back to the kitchen.

Menu seemed pricey and ordered chicken parm. The chicken cutlet was a good size for the price and the only disapointment was the lack of flavour. It tasted very bland. Using salt and pepper on the table helped to elevate it. Ended up taking 90% of it home. Server was great. Kept our drinks filled but never hovered. Atmosphere seemed like it was meant to be more semi formal and felt very under dressed in business casual atire. Also very sweet the server brought a cheesecake slice complimentry for the friends birthday we were there celebrating. Only other thing i noticed online menu is a bit different than in restaurant so that should be updated but overall not bad.

We visited Strada West for my husband's birthday. It was not our first time there. He loves the mussels! The food was good and our server was lovely, even bringing a sample of the beer my husband was going to order so he could try it first. It's not inexpensive, but the portions are very generous. The atmosphere, however, was awful. I don't expect restaurants to be quiet, especially close to Christmas, but the owner was hosting a group of men (I'd put their number at about two dozen), who were loud and vulgar. I could barely hear my husband sitting two feet from me. I was not the only in the restaurant who noticed. The owner seemed completely unbothered his other patrons were having to shout over the noise while his party yelled obscenities across the table at one another. Look, if you want to treat your restaurant like your personal dining room, go ahead, but book the restaurant accordingly. This guy wanted to still make money off his customers while also completing disregarding their experience. No apologies, no "thanks for coming" (as the owner - the minimum you should be doing) and no comping so much as a slice of bread - all simple goodwill gestures, the absence of which speaks volumes. In case you're wondering, we had just ordered our drinks and appetizers when this party arrived. A small group was coming in as we left, and they turned around and went elsewhere. I'd think twice about going back, which is a shame.

The food is good here. The service is good. I enjoyed it. They have an ok wine selection. It's usually busy when I go. But not this time so service was great because the staff wasn't crushed. The servers are great.

Very modern, nice place. We went for an earlier dinner. Started off awkward, our first server all you can smell was alcohol on her breath and she wasn't very friendly. But then Felicia took over, and she was amazing! Friendly, warm, and nice. The food was fresh and delicious! Average prices $13 for cocktails. $25 main $15 appetizer.
