St. Catharines Public Library - Dr. Huq Family Library Branch

Hours say they are closed Sundays but they are open 12-5 from my experience. Could do with some more reading like seating for adults ie;comfy chairs instead of study type nooks and metal/plastic chairs. Other than that, it's a nice place with decent selection 📚

Incredibly disappointed! I was fined for books that I put ON TIME in the Book Drop the night before the due date and was still charged! Not only that there was an extra charge for something the girl couldn't find on my account or explain and asked if I had another account (?) I told her if I had another account which I did not, than that 'late fee' would show up on THAT account! She had to call the Branch Manager who wasn't on-site! The Branch Manager apparently couldn't explain it but told the Circulation Associated I still had to pay the $12.00 unexplained fee before I could borrow any materials! This is where my tax dollars are going? To pay for something that couldn't be accounted for? For a public servants who cannot do their job right when it comes to a Book Drop in the morning, seeing materials there from the night before and still charging Patreons for overdue fees and inputting the wrong data in the computer system on Patreons library accounts for extra fees that cannot be explained only to tell me it cannot be waived and I can't use my tax dollars? Civil servants not doing their due diligence!

I loved it how when my daughter asked if they had any Greek books, they actually did cause some library. They don’t even have those books and when my daughter passed to go get a book on hold called Olympians they simply just asked her to show the card and they said they’d get it right away and they emailed to us. They got us everything we needed. They were very kind. The staff was very indeed good but I saw a child start saying some bad words on a game in the computers that I that my daughter didn’t enjoy so that’s the only part I did not really like, but the rest was left. I also liked how when I got the app cloud library I called them to ask for help they told me the steps. They actually helped a lot if you ask me.

LOVE this branch. In a much safer and more appealing area than the downtown branch. The staff here are always so kind and helpful. I love the variety of work spaces available here for doing homework with my students.
