My daughter is three and really loves it here. There's toys for kids to play with, and a "toy tour" that we're going to try out next time — though I noticed hintings of it throughout the exhibits. She loved being able to play with the lacrosse set up they have for people to try. Entertaining her for a few hours at the low price of "a donation" is pretty great, especially considering all the historical and educational value the museum holds.
View on GoogleWe visited the Museum in the thick of Winter, during one of those weekends Elsa decided to show off her polar Vertex powers. The ambience around the Museum is warm and inviting. Everyone is first greeted by the gift shop and the viewing area. And across the entrance far ahead of the building you can see the Welland Canal. We were not so lucky to see a ship at the canal but that doesn't diminish the intrigue of being surrounded by so much history spanning over 200 years. The Museum houses an architectural model of the entire facility which is quite interesting to see. The memorial is perhaps the best part of the visit. Its shows the history of the lacrosse and the workers who help build this community. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. Ambience ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Service ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Location ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
View on GoogleThis small but fascinating museum tells the story of the construction of the magnificent Welland Canal, whose creation brought comprehensive development to the entire Niagara region.
View on GoogleA great place to visit in St Catharines. Completely free though donations are accepted. A history of the Welland canal system and the Ontario Lacrosse museum. There is also a nice little park on site.
View on GoogleWhat a beautiful and interesting place to learn about the history and how the Welland Canal works. It's also an excellent spot to discover and get familiar with one of Canada's national sports: lacrosse. The view of the canal from the observation deck is spectacular, and if you're lucky enough to see a ship in that water lock during your visit, the experience becomes even more impressive. The facility includes clean restrooms, large parking lot, gift shop, audio-visual room, rentable event spaces, picnic tables, an adjacent playground, and a beautiful memorial honoring the many workers who lost their lives over the canal's 200-year history.
