St Catharines Martial Arts Centre

I feel incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to train with Sensei Toth. I’ve trained for several years with the St Catharines Martial Arts Centre and have found my experience very empowering. The dojo is incredibly welcoming and inclusive. As someone with a physical disability, I’ve had absolutely no issue learning in a way that works best for me. Everyone has been extremely encouraging of my success, and ever member of the dojo. There is a real sense of community. Sensei Toth incorporates not just physical training but history, philosophy and etiquette into ever lesson. The lessons I’ve learnt from this dojo have been invaluable.

My husband and I have nothing but good things to say about St. Catharines Martial Arts Centre. Sensei Toth's intuitive teaching style welcomes all students to the world of martial arts. He approaches each person individually to help achieve their goals. Our children have gained focus, listening skills, memory retention, and a learned respect for ALL others. Sensei Toth is an intelligent and open minded gentleman. His friendly assistants help in teaching each and every student at his dojo.

I have been training with this dojo for 3.5 years now. As an adult female in the martial arts, sometimes it can be difficult to find a place to train that meets my needs. What I enjoy about this place the most is that when we enter the dojo, we are all students together. Sensei has worked hard to foster a welcoming environment that encourages students to work hard and feel proud of themselves. Interwoven with the regular karate curriculum are drills from other styles and opportunities for further development through seminars and tournaments. This dojo offers the right amount of variety to keep students engaged without overwhelming them with too much material. I would recommend this dojo to anyone who wants to train in Martial Arts.

Our 9 year old son began his training at the St.Catharines Martial Arts Centre 3 years ago. Thus far in his journey of self discovery he has acquired many life altering attributes such as; self defense, patience as well as hard work and dedication present reward. Sensei Toth along with his very capable instructors support and reinforce many of our core values set forth for our young gentleman. One of them being; when respecting another's space,feelings and person we ensure we always respect ourselves. I could name many more wonderful attributes this Karate School offers however I feel it only fair to allow those who choose to enroll the pleasure of being beyond satisfied. As we continue our journey we offer our most sincere gratitude and appreciation. Thank you Sensei.

Three years ago, I was looking for a school for my five-year-old son to learn the art of self defense, discipline and respect. I shopped all over town and I felt most comfortable at St. Catharines Martial Arts Centre. I never regretted my decision. My son loves the school, made many new friends, and he attends at least twice a week at his own request. I saw a huge improvement in my son's discipline and focus since he started at St. Catharines Martial Arts Centre. The teachers of the school are well like, they understand the rules, the details, and most important, the proper teachings of the discipline are emphasized. The other plus side while waiting for your kids, the parents get to mingle and make friends which Sensei always encourage the parents is to communicate with one another instead of playing with their phones. I would certainly recommend the school to any parents who wants their kids to learn some good karate. Hai-Ya!!! Arigato Sensei.
