St. Catharines Discount Auto

Not terrible — but definitely not a one-stop shop. I stopped in at HDAP Discount Auto Parts in St. Catharines looking for a few basic items: some wire, a few fuses, contact cleaner, and a simple multimeter. Pretty standard stuff that just about every auto parts store should have on hand. But I was told they definitely don’t carry any tools — not even something as common as a multimeter. The staff weren’t rude, but the energy felt very “don’t make me leave the counter.” There wasn’t much initiative or interest in helping me find alternatives or suggesting where I could get what I needed. It’s the kind of place that might work fine if you know exactly what part number you’re after and don’t need any guidance — but if you’re troubleshooting, comparing, or stocking up on supplies, you’ll hit a wall pretty fast. They do have auto parts, yes, but that’s really where it ends. Even with their mechanic discount, you’ll get better bang for your buck (and better customer service) at CARQUEST, NAPA, or PartSource, where you can find everything in one place — tools, cleaners, electrical gear, advice, and all. In short: HDAP is okay for quick part pickups, but it’s not where you go if you want full service or product range.

Easter weekend rush, came here after my visit from the junkyard to scoop some oil and a filter for my Corolla. Sales associate was quick with giving me the price of what products they offer. Overall I’m satisfied with my purchase! Happy Easter!

I haven't dealt here a lot, but when I do, it's always friendly service and no problems with anything. Keep up the good work
