Sport Chek

Horrible customer service. Person helping us with shoes didn’t even make eye contact, threw the shoes down, and acted as if we were inconveniencing him. Girl at the counter didn’t even greet us, said one word, same poor attitude.

Last year (2024)my husband and I walked into sports check looking for skates. I was greeted by a gentleman named mark. He helped us for quite a while. We both found the perfect skates. He then put them in the oven to mold them to our feet then sharpened them. Mark was such a great help and extremely knowledgeable about all of it. Then this year for Christmas my husband went in looking for a Nike suit for me. He couldn’t find what he was looking for he then went to the counter and found a lady. Her name was Claire and she was so helpful. She helped him find what he needed and then said if it didn’t fit that he could return and get whatever was needed. Fast forward to just after the new year we go back to return my outfit to get the correct size and Claire again was very knowledgeable. She was able to find what I was looking for online because what I wanted wasn’t in the store. I was able to find exactly what I needed. We were also looking at shoes We weren’t planning on buying anything because we were only there to return my outfit and that’s when young man named Adam walked over. He also was extremely kind and helpful My husband suffers from planters facia. We asked a few questions about What would be the best shoes for him and Adam knew all the answers He went to the back multiple times to get the correct size shoes and in the end we found the most comfortable pair of shoes And we bought them. My husband couldn’t be happier. He says he’s walking on a cloud thank you staff for all of your help.

Apparently, sport checks in Welland is having difficulties financially. I just purchased over $1000 worth of items and the lady forgot to charge me for a bag or even asked me if I wanted a bag. When the transaction was completed, we looked at each other. I’m like are you gonna put this in a bag or would you like me to carry this all in my hands and that’s exactly what I did. Please find another sports check someone that will be less condescending and more helpful as these people clearly can’t afford to give you a bag to put your items in after purchase Maybe the regional manager of sports Chek should get out there and have a talk with the owners of the Welland Seaway Mall location and offer them some free bags as an incentive and perhaps some retraining on Customer service thank you

Adam was great, patient, helpful and didn't give up till we found exactly what I was looking for, he was also very knowledgeable and friendly. I'm happy with my Merrel hiking shoes.

I came today for some colourful basketball shoes. i wish i got the ladies name who helped me. She was invested in helping me find my 11 year old a pair of vibrant shoes, he has entered the mens sizes and it wasnt looking good. But the more information she gathered, she said she may have something hiding in the back from an online return. Sure enough she found a bright purple pair of nikes. In his size. I was hesitant on if he would wear purple but i took the chance. I suprised him at his championship basketball game and his face lit up and everyone absolutely loved his new shoes. You made my kid very very happy !
