Shawarma Hut Plus

Called 30 minutes before for a pick up. When we arrived, the guy had absolutely no clue on what we were talking about. The floors are so filthy that it looks like cows have been living there. And they forgot our samosas. When we called the lady said that the guy is new. Just because someone is new doesn’t mean a job can’t be done properly. Never again eating from this place.

We stopped into the Shawarma hut for lunch this week after seeing some positive reviews. The prices were OK as were the serving sizes. The service was not bad but also not great, just kind of blah, not very friendly or welcoming. I tried the chicken shawarma plate, it was very bland, the rice nor the chicken was well seasoned. Even the garlic sauce did not have much taste. The entire meal was not even overly warm. Overall a very underwhelming experience. Probably will not be back.

I don't know why I haven't rated this place yet! I absolutely love, love, love Shawarma Hut Plus! Hands down best Shawarma plates in the region, in my opinion. It's always busy, so I've learned to order take-out ahead of time, and it's ready when I go to pick it up. The plates are huge and created with such passion! I usually split my plate into two servings, so I am stocked for the day. Give these guys a try, you won't be disappointed. *Update: if I crave Shawarma, I only order from here. The food is delicious and the owner is one of the hardest working people I know. He cares about his customers and his family. Truly, his restaurant is a hidden gem in St. Catharines!

I have been here two or three times for shawarma. The food and service/staff have been pleasant service. Someone admittedly new the first time, and someone who claimed to be the owner more recently. My biggest complaint with this business is the refusal by all staff & owner to produce an itemized receipt with the taxes shown on it. They have only provided the credit/debit terminal receipts, which are unsuitable for taxes and write-offs. The variety of ingredients is decent by local/Niagara standards, but Sultan's across the street has more. I might get a meal from Shawarma Hut Plus, when Sultan's is closed. Other nice touches are missing at Shawarma Hut Plus, like tea or something while you wait, but good luck finding shawarma places in the Niagara Region that offer such hospitality…

Finally a decent shwarma place in St. Catharines. The 4.5 star review doesn't lie. Their food was really good. I'm this end of the world, most definitely a winner. The last time I went to a shwarma place in St Catherines, we left traumatized by what we had eaten lol. The beef shawarma plate was delicious. Loved my chicken shawarma as well but I loved my husbands beef platter more. Their garlic sauce is killer. And hummus was equally good as well. We also had their beef samosas which were not bad, but could be a bit more crispy and spicy. All in all I was overall pleased with this place. Love how it's open till midnight every day.
