The selection is good. Some yarns that have been out of production for years. That’s the good part. The rest isn’t that great. The store is an odd mishmash of florist, yarn, and garage sale. It needs a good clear out and cleaning. The owner is strange, very strange. He follows you around, appearing out of nowhere. You cannot browse comfortably. I felt like he thought I was going to steal. I tried to have a conversation, but you can’t. He’s argumentative, abrasive, no sense of humour or true customer service. I will not go back even though I loved some of the yarns. There are other, more pleasant places to shop.
View on GoogleVisited this store today and I can tell that Jack knows his yarns! Very helpful and his humor is funny too. I saw a comment in his fb market place that he's rude/condescending, I don't think he is- his humor is a little dry but that's totally okay cause that what makes it funny. Very informative and good listener too!
View on GoogleHIDDEN GEM! It is a 5! in service, value and selection! One stop shopping for all things Yarn related: 3000 sq. ft. of rooms allocated to Wool, Acrylic, and Canadiana and a special area for exotic wools such as Angora, Alpacca etc. 2000 needles - knitting, crochet, embroidery and all things related including patterns and classes!! Plan for time to explore: unique and exquisite Christmas ornaments, newly minted special coins and the most beautiful, large and perfect roses I have ever seen and more. Much in demand, dry humoured and extremely knowledgeable Jack! is there to answer all of your questions and to help you select the correct sizes of yarn and needles for your projects. The best yarn shop I have been to anywhere in Canada! (across the street from the United Church in Pelham, Fonthill Ontario at the top of the hill, turn left) Worth the drive.
View on GoogleI love coming to Jack’s place for yarn! The selection is fabulous and well organized and Jack is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. It’s my go-to yarn shop, despite it being a fair distance from where I live…..but it’s worth the drive!
View on GoogleJust been to visit the store today. The owner couldn’t have been any more helpful and boy does he ever know his stuff about yarn. Things that I would never have thought about. So much to chose from. I will certainly go back even if it is a 45 minute drive. I also found the prices very reasonable. I took a friend with me who doesn’t knit but she loved the thrift store so it was a win for both of us.
