Rookleys Canadian Art

Visiting Rookleys is a unique and enriching experience. It feels both like an established museum of Canadian fine art and a gallery where the holdings of the 'museum' are available for purchase! Rookleys is a destination gallery nestled in a wonderful downtown with fine restaurants and boutiques, just minutes from Crystal Beach. Never disappointed with my visits, and always look forward to the next!

The Gallery is small but charming space that I'm glad I didn't overlook. During my visit, the gallery was quiet, which gave me the chance to really take in the art without distraction. The staff member on duty was friendly, offering tidbits of information when asked but otherwise letting me browse in peace. I was drawn to a landscape painting by John Beatty that reminded me of a place I used to visit as a child. The staff were upfront about the price, which was reasonable, and they explained the artist's background, which made the piece even more special to me. I didn't make a purchase that day, but I left with a couple of artist cards to follow up on. Rookleys Canadian Art is a pleasant spot for art enthusiasts and casual browsers alike. I'm looking forward to my next visit, perhaps when they rotate to their next exhibit.

Made the trip down from Toronto to check out this Gallery after hearing raving reviews from my friend. Ended up buying a breathtaking art print! All painting and prints were very reasonably priced and beautifully presented. Kudos to the staff and especially the owner for their warmth and expertise. This gallery is a gem; a must-visit for anyone who appreciates fine art.

I love Canadian outdoor scenes, but our family doesn’t have the option to travel around much due to circumstances. So, I am really glad to have visited this Canadian Art Gallery and seen the work of Canadian artists while enjoying a homelike atmosphere inside.
