Rockway Vineyards Restaurant: Windows on Rockway

Stumbled on the restaurant on Google. Not what I expected when I arrived. Menu was not was I was hoping for. However, I did get the short rib grilled cheese and a salad, and they only had one red and one white wine. But I really enjoyed it, simple, easy, nice sunset overlook on the golf course. Buddy and I went here to golf and had a bite to eat after. Golf was ok. Fairways and tee boxes were hard. Greens were fast and difficult. The food was good.

This business is in transition at the moment. Based on some online photos, we thought we were signing up for a nice wine tasting and dining experience for Father’s Day, but it was far more casual than that. It is moving towards pub style restaurant for after golf - which is totally fine, just not what we were looking for. The decor is mixed and chaotic (eg. sports TV in dining room) until they switch over. Food was so-so (apparently cook was in training…). It wasn’t the special dinner we wanted, but we wish them well. Bonus - they are selling out their wine cellar, so deals to be had if you want to take a bottle home.

The chef omitted the spice in every spicy dish. Received a discount but it left us somewhat disappointed as the dishes sounded very flavourful with the spices mentioned in the menu
