River Rapids Inn

I didn’t even get to stay here because when I arrived to check in, after a long and busy day (including travelling all the way to Niagara Falls) the staff at the front desk informed me that there was no hot water for any of the rooms. No one had contacted me prior to my arrival when I could have had more notice to find other accommodations or perhaps choose not to come at all. They didn’t offer any compensation for the highly inconvenient situation except for a full refund. They could have made arrangements with other hotels in the area and offered discounts for future stays but they obviously do not know how to run a business.

Great price however, old hotel with poorly renovated rooms. Freezing pool with old installations. Also they sell you this hotel with a secondary parking lot at Clifton Hill, however, it’s in fact on Stanley Avenue, 20 min away from Clifton Hill by foot. The breakfast is pretty basic but acceptable.

My friend and I booked 2 standard rooms for an overnight stay before attending the Shaw Festival in Niagara on the Lake. As we were checking in, the manager very kindly upgraded us to two rooms on the main (2nd) floor at no additional charge. The rooms were pleasant and spotlessly clean. The beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and nutritious. We definitely will stay there again when coming to the Shaw Festival.

As a higher end 'budget hotel offering value' River Rapids Inn delivered what I expected and therefore makes it popular for families. It was nice to have a hot continental breakfast, pool access with a sauna, and friendly staff who were always at the front desk. Check-in and check-out were very smooth. The hotel could use updates throughout the hallways and rooms, and it’s on a busy road, so depending on your room, you may hear traffic—earplugs are a good idea. Overall, it’s a solid budget option in the area and a quick 10 minute drive to downtown.

Went here years ago. I love this hotel. Love the service and the staff. I went several times got to know some of the staff, really nice family. Many choices for their breakfast. It's away from the main attractions so it's nice and quiet. Rooms are spacious and very clean.
