Just as others have said, if I could rate zero stars, I would! This “hotel” should really be classified as a motel and definitely NOT have anything close to “resort” in the name. We only live 10 mins away but it was my husbands birthday and we wanted a night of quiet and privacy and so booked a stay here. This was the only request I had on booking, that we have a quiet, private room. Well we got the absolute WORST room in the place, though upon reading other reviews I’m not sure the other rooms are any better. You can literally hear EVERYTHING outside your room, people talking, sound like they’re inside your room. From the neighbouring rooms you can hear everything from doors opening and closing, the wire coat hangers on the wall being moved (such pathetic rooms they don’t even have a closet to put your coat in). The best part was that our room could actually be seen into from the lobby. We had to keep the curtains shut or else people could see us inside our room, so absurd! Needless to say, we stayed for 2 hours and then decided to drive home. What an absolute waste of money! And the “customer service” is on par with the rest of the place, just a complete joke. They charge you $20 as a “facility” fee that they don’t even tell you about when booking or even when checking in. I actually had to ask the wannabe rockstar clerk (at least that’s what her ridiculous hair suggested) what the charge was she was putting on my card and she very matter-of-factly said “it’s our facility fee”. Would you not think to tell your customers what you’re charging to their cards? Well, apparently in her extremely established career of 4 whole years working there, they’ve always had a facility fee. For what? For parking? This isn’t Niagara Falls. For your disgusting run-down pool? We paid $180 for the absolute worst room I’ve ever laid my eyes on and you want another $20 to park? Please, do yourself a massive favour and do not, under ANY circumstances, book a stay at this disgusting excuse for a “hotel”. Your money is better spent literally anywhere else.

The view is nice, but after booking and paying fully online, I was confronted with an additional 190$ fee upon check in... The room contains no microwave, no safe, no clothes hooks, the bathroom is ridiculously small, the floor vibrates with each step you take, the TV is pathically small, you can hear through the walls ceiling and floor, there is no hot water in the pool showers, and the pool is freezing cold. Worst hotel experience I've had in Canada so far.

If I could give zero stars, I would. This place is a case study in neglect, indifference, and false advertising. Every awful review you’ve read? Believe them. We experienced the exact same issues — outdated rooms, broken amenities, and a level of cleanliness that can only be described as “we stopped trying years ago.” Housekeeping doesn’t exist here. Not “limited.” Not “upon request.” It simply does not happen. I had to call twice just to get someone to take out the trash, and they only bothered to show up once. Apparently even the bare minimum is too much to ask. And the real kicker: they signed up as a stay and play hotel for a kids’ hockey tournament, then acted shocked and irritated that kids and families were actually present. They were openly unaccommodating, unfriendly, and made it painfully clear they wanted the business but not the people. If you don’t want families, don’t volunteer to host a youth event. It’s that simple. Save your money, your sanity, and your weekend. This was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had, and I wouldn’t stay here again if someone paid me.

Location is excellent, staff very nice and my room was clean with a nice view of the lake. But the pool was so cold that we couldn't handle it and got out after less than five minutes (my son was so upset). Tried to rinse off at the showers at the pool but the water there was equally freezing. Then when we checked out, I couldn't believe all the additional taxes and fees on the bill. Lots of positives but the negatives outweigh them.

Don’t judge a book by its cover. I knew this place had a reputation of being old and a little rough around the edges but I was pleasantly surprised when seeing the room. I was given a free upgrade to a king suite room 101 upon arrival. Presentation look good at first… until I went to get in bed and found a blood stain on the white sheets and a couple of hairs under a pillow. Toilet seat was dirty underneath (I’ll spare everyone the picture). Don’t plan on watching TV in the evening, unless you are good with only one channel (CTV). Lukewarm shower in the evening however, the hot water returned in the morning. Pro-tip… check the little bottles of soap before getting in the shower…the one I took was already empty. Because I booked two nights through Expedia, the manager refused to refund the second night. I couldn’t spend one more night in that place but I was charged for it despite the issues with the room. Expedia called the Ramada on my behalf with the same results. I’d consider this a step or two up from camping at a provincial park, no wait… my travel trailer is far nicer.
