Great experience walking across the Rainbow Bridge to the U.S. side. The process was very straightforward—just make sure you have your passport ready for customs. There is a small pedestrian toll to cross (bring some quarters for the turnstiles), but it’s well worth it for the views alone. Standing over the Niagara River gives you a unique perspective of both the American and Horseshoe Falls that you can’t get from the shore. It’s a quick walk, maybe 10-15 minutes, and wasn't crowded during our visit. Definitely the best way to see both sides of the falls in one day.
View on GoogleWe parked on the Canadian side of the Falls and walked over to the U.S side thru Rainbow Bridge to get to Maid of the Mist. It was a short walk on the bridge and you’re able to see nice views and take some pictures. The day we went, during the week, the line to get to the U.S side wasn’t bad but on our return, we waited about 40 minutes to get back to Canada.its a nice experience having to walk the bridge to get to both sides of the falls.
View on GoogleCrossed the bridge from the US to Canada. Park on the US side at parking lot #1 and make the easy walk across. Border Patrol isn't until you reach the Canadian side, so stop on the bridge and take a million pictures. $1 return fee to the US and it must be in quarters/bills. Now I can say I walked to another country, how neat.
View on GoogleAlthough the views are breathtaking, the people working the bridge have no manners, our road and emotionless. The motor went out in the window of my driver's side, and when I opened the door to hand them my passport, they made me shut my car off and were very rude to me. They got VERY personal.
View on GoogleSo cool to be able to walk across to Canada conveniently when we visited the Niagara falls state park in NY. There was no line on a Monday afternoon first week of October so it was very easy to just walk over and no custom checkpoint till you reach the Canada side. Be sure to stop at the Canada Us boundary sign in the middle of the bridge. View of the falls was beautiful from the bridge and across on the Canada side. On the return, you pay $1 toll fee either by cash or credit card at the Canada side, and then go through immigration at the US side. There was a short line of people queuing up in the early evening.
