Few years back I was hired here. I completed my first training shift and never went back. They wanted me to do things that were way out of my scope of practice, plus be alone on the midnight shift. Big nope for me. It was filthy then, I cannot even imagine how it is now. My heart goes out to all the residents. NO ONE should ever have to live like that!

I decided to edit my review, I wrote in haste and every emotion that comes with a sudden death of a loved one. And no answer to my calls. The only thing i received of my mothers was her cell phone that just happened have my name erased but My review is not for myself, it’s to help others. My Mom is with her beloved Jesus, no one can take that from her. I want the truth to be told, to save lives… if only I had found and read these reviews before she got sick. I had daily contact with my mom but we weren’t from St.Catharines, she rarely complained but when she did not lie. She first told me that a staff member stole her money and ID from her wallet. She said the woman was fired but she was related to the people who own or manage the place. She gave me their names and I have hours of our daily conversations related to the sad sufferings she witnessed of those who lived there especially those who could not get out of their beds literally being eaten alive by the bed bugs, cockroaches and rats. Anyone could become sick from the infectious skin diseases known to spread through the building via varies transport including bites. Also they refer to themselves as a health care building it has absolutely no medical team as they told me they can’t even check blood pressure after someone fell and hit their face and head of the ground so badly they were unrecognizable. They didn’t even send them to the hospital or call an ambulance to come check on them. Though we had finally found her a place and she was in the process of relocating to a lovely new home we received an odd phone call asking about the life insurance my mother said she had no idea who that could be and to hang up on them, they must be scammers. Two weeks later I couldn’t reach her until I contacted nhs, she was sent to hospital without informing us. Their excuse for not sending her until she was unresponsive was she was stubborn. In the past she and visitors witnessed the use of poisonous products in the residents rooms and in the area of the facilities food supplies , area of meal prep, and dining area they ate in being sprayed instead of removing everyone from the building to safely try to remove the insect and rodents infestation. Niagara public health changed their dated online compliance reports removing ongoing infectious disease of the skin (eg. StrepA) but it’s plain to see bedbugs, rats, cockroaches and building issues that show the building is not there to keep people alive and healthy. I couldn’t give a review without giving a star so just to make clear they didn’t earn it! There is something very wrong with this place and the system that is aiding and abetting it. What is done in the dark is being brought into light whether you retire or you sell. Whether you quit or you’re fired. Medical records prove the issues that surround my mothers death and others who have died there or while living there before being sent to hospital. She was very healthy and she and others will have their justice. You can take what you want from this review, I just ask that you do not allow a loved one to live at this place. Tomorrow never comes, we only have today!

I had a relative living here. It was disgusting. One day he was 5 minutes late for dinner so they refused to give him a meal even though hed paid for it. (Food is included in rent). Another time he couldnt eat the dinner because most of the food was inedible so they refused to let him have dessert. They treat them like children. The whole building including kitchen is infested with mice and one bit him in bed. Valuables went missing out of his room every te the cleaner had been in but he was not allowed to stay in his room while it was being cleaned and she always closed his door while she was in there alone. He lost a cell phone 2 cameras cash etc etc. This place has a bad reputation and should be closed down.

Residents are terribly neglected here. A friend of mine lived here and I went to visit. Bed bugs were crawling all over their room and were completely visible mid day. A man who was incapable of speaking was walking down the hallway nude and wearing only a diaper, slobbering and groaning. My friend was a low-income senior and did not belong in this place. I would visit them to try to lift their spirits and encourage them. In one visit there was a woman who was having a seizure in the backyard. No staff came to help and I had to call an ambulance. This lady was being robbed by other tenants during this episode. The paramedics took this lady and she survived that day but died just a few days later while back at this residence. The staff were unusually cruel to the residents here. There was no love or compassion. Nobody should ever have to live here. I had to give one star for a rating but in fact this place should be shut down and owners charged for their lack of care and their clear neglect and abuse of residents in this place. They are taking in over $1000 per resident and feed them terribly. Shut this place down!!!

There shouldnt even be a rating!!!! This place left my aunt in the Hospital and was left on life support. Nearly DEAD, thank the Lord she's pulled through. barely hanging on... because a worker left her outside in the cold IN A WHEELCHAIR. KNOWING SHE HAD NO JACKET ON!! ... Some one please tell me why they are still open in supposedly still "in business?" !! I'm raging!!
