Price of Wales has a well-known reputation, and we had a great time overall. We were greeted and checked in easily, and kindly upgraded for free to a bigger room with a fireplace without asking. The bellman helped us find parking as there were no spots available when we arrived due to a wedding. The room was clean and spacious, if not a little dated. The shower needed a bit of work in terms of some rusty chips in the wall but was clean and had great pressure. I also always appreciate a place that has shampoo, conditioner etc. mounted on the wall in big bottles instead of small plastic ones that get wasted so often. The bed was quite firm and some of the blankets had some small stains, but the pillows were comfortable. We were given vouchers for specialty coffee, and my only issue with this was no explanation that it meant only alcoholic beverages. When we went to redeem them at the Churchill Lounge later, we realized the only speciality coffees had alcohol and we just wished there had been more options to customize without (this was not offered). We did have dinner at the Churchill Lounge as well and the wait was long, but the food was excellent. We returned to our room both of the nights we were there to the bed re-made and a rose on the pillow with a card stating the next day's weather, which was a really special touch. We had massages at the spa and high tea in the Drawing Room on our second day, and both were pleasant experiences although I would have appreciated more communication from the front desk about booking the high tea in advance, as it was just an add-on our hotel package. We were lucky they had space for us when we walked in, but it was very busy. We signed up for a "Wine Cellar Tour" that was offered on the activity calendar for the afternoon, which was just standing in the historic cellar below the restaurant to do a wine tasting. The sommelier running the tour stated that he didn't know why they called it a "tour", but he was very knowledgeable and friendly with the group. Overall, we had an enjoyable stay at the Prince of Wales with just a few small places for improvement
View on GoogleFantastic get a way! Spacious clean rooms, friendly service throughout the entire experience, restaurant dining was fantastic. Dining staff was top notch. My husbands streak was slightly under cooked and our amazing waiter noticed and took it back without batting an eye. Food, dessert and drinks were presented beautifully. Spa treatments were enjoyed as we experienced a couples massage, pedicures, scrubs and a reflexology sessions. Enjoyed tea and infused water while waiting in between sessions. Easy walk to adorable shops and other dining options. Will definitely be back to enjoy a wine tour in the summer.
View on GoogleAs we were staying in a historic place. We hoped to get a room in the same building. We didnt. We had to go out of the building and into another building. The room was ok clean & tidy. We had booked for an evening meal for 8pm, We arrived 7.55pm and was greeted by a lady who asked us if we booked and our names. She said your early which absolutely stunned us. She took our coats as we were not staying in the main building. And then took us to our table which was the main walk way for the waiters. We notice there were plenty of tables around situated in better places than we were at. Our waiter came he was lovely. We asked if we could move. He agreed and said he couldnt understand why she had seated us there. As we were looking at menu she came back and could see we were not happy with her. She came over and said if we wanted to a miniute we coud get a better table. We agreed. We had our food. What a dissapointment! Steak was rock hard. We did tell the waiter the whole experience of dining in the prince of wales was very very dissapointing. They did not charge for one of the meals. But to us that wasnt the issue. We had heard so much about the place and we traveĺled from Wales in the uk. It was sadly not a nice experience that we were hoping to have!!!
View on GoogleWe celebrated a milestone birthday here in October 2025 booking a number of guestrooms, afternoon tea, dinner and breakfast, and spa treatments, so it was a big weekend. After a few hiccups with Nick and the event booking (they double booked a room so we had to switch, which was okay in the end as we liked the new room), we were put on to Monica Forero who organized everything. She is great, professional and capable and friendly. We visited the venue and it was great to meet her a week before. On the day, the staff were a dream and I cannot thank them enough for their kindness in helping us make the event a success: Linda, Frank, Rebekah, Alexandra, had such professionalism, knowledge about the foods served, and kindness and friendly demeanour. They are with you the whole time in the rooms and they really make the event smooth and stress free. And of course the food is all great!! so no complaints at all. Truly, the staff was what made the event successful. The gentlemen at the entrances and lobby areas, Jake and Jason, are so friendly and helpful, and of course well presented! The only thing I would say is the fact that the spa, and the hotel rooms and the event are organized by three different organizations/entities makes it quite a complex thing to organize, so you have to be a little bit of a project manager. That is, until you meet Monica, because she is great and professional and knows what she is doing, and things are less hectic from that point on. Do also pay a visit on site before committing as it will help to see the space and meet the key people, before your event. Also don't expect a discount for booking multiple things (event, rooms, spas) because your event booking is considered separate from the other activities like the spa and even your room booking (we had 7 rooms booked); no discounts for any aspect of the weekend.
View on GoogleJeremy and his team went above and beyond! We held my daughter’s bridal shower in the ballroom this past Sunday and we were so happy! The room was beautiful, such a vintage feel with flowers everywhere! The food was impeccable, the chef was phenomenal and people kept commenting how delicious the food was. The staff were very accommodating and so very helpful and they made the day very special for my daughter. Thank you everyone, it was so appreciated!
