Plato Auctions

Thank you for the amazing service! They offered to hold the item I won until the Canada Post strike was over (to save me on shipping costs) and sent it as soon as the strike was over. When it arrived, we were so impressed (and appreciative) of how well packed it was.

Title: Don’t Trust this Man! Plato agreed to sell items from my parent’s estate, most of which happened at one auction, for which he sent me a cheque. However, the remaining items were to be sold at later auction: 2 years later, I have never heard from him, let alone received any payment. He has refused to reply, not just to my emails and calls, but very worryingly he has refused to engage with the Better Business Bureau-that alone should serve as a warning to any prospective clients.

Sept 11-21 Auction , I was not allowed to bid because apparently I have a bad score by some auctioneers that I have given a bad review. So this Plato’s auctioneer wouldn’t let me bid,I have just as many positive review by the more reputable auction houses in Ontario but Plato’s doesn’t care. I have purchased over $40,000 om auction this year but I cannot buy here. So if you would like to loose some of your money go ahead and use Platos Auction house. I tried to bid on over 10 items….one got up to 190.00 I was willing to go higher but wasn’t allowed. Go elsewhere this one is shady,you WILL NOT MAKE THE FULL POTENTIAL as they are not allowing people to bid.

One star was given only because no stars was not an option. My spouse had consigned numerous items including art, antique guns, silver etc. After only a few items being sold and over 14 months of no less than twenty emails unanswered I finally made arrangements to get my items back. After two very uncomfortable phone calls with a very rude Mr. Plato he finally agreed to let us come and get our items. After driving 45 minutes he had a few items that didn’t even belong to me and a few minor items that were low in value - Plato started to backpeddle and stated that he did actually sell the two guns and didn’t have answers for the rest. I have never in my life seen a business run this way. Clearly based on the reviews this is pattern . Truly shocking. See you in court.

I have emailed Don Plato regularly since May 2015 inquiring about a sterling silver condiment set that he received from me as well as other items that he agreed to auction. I saw the items listed on the May auction and I received payment for some of the items and an account closed and paid in full summary. I have left several messages asking for a reply, have not received a single response. I would appreciate knowing what happened to these items and receiving payment if they were sold. There was a sterling silver and blue enamel spoon and fork and sterling silver and blue enamel mushroom salt and pepper set. If anyone has knowledge about what happened to these pieces I would appreciate hearing from you. Thank you, Susan Pollard
