First time at this quaint neighbourhood bistro. Definitely a place where repeat visits are warranted. The place is spotless throughout. Service was quick and very friendly. Food arrived a short time later. It was delicious. I would come back for the basket of bread and the warm olives alone. Every dish was excellent from the appetizers to the main to the desserts. There is a counter where you can purchase your coffee and a dessert and enjoy. A very relaxing place to sit and relax.
View on GoogleGreat atmosphere! The space feels cozy and bright with a small table seating area and a few bar seats by the windows. Prices do feel a little expensive but I feel that they're fair for what you recieve. I had a flat white and a savoury pastry (the 'umami bomb'; chili oil, sesame, and ginger flavours), both were very good. Overall a nice experience, and would return to try more pastries.
View on GoogleNothing short of amazing in this quiet nook of St. Catharines. A small coffee shop you would expect out of that cheesy Hallmark movies, Pique-Nique (hah get it? Cause picnic-Ill stop) shows that classic french bakery coffee shop is a doable process. Small, airy and has the most delicious looking pasteries out on their window. A small table for 2 and had a good flat white (my go to for assessing coffee and barista). Happy to say the milk was forward and the coffee was dreamy. My meal was the pain pear with as much cream and honey as one would allow. It was delicous. Pear was very mute but the honey stole the show. I almost burned my tongue by wolfing it. The square danish was a tad bland for my taste. However if you had to pick one, the pear croissant pastry is the star. Its sweet but not sugary, crispy but not hard. Service was great-had an angel literally give my meal and cleaned up our table (seriously, is he a model? He is gorgeous). Very poite and professional staff. If i had to critique, maybe that community board needs some love. Its so bare.
View on GooglePique Nique in St. Catharines is amazing. The location is beautiful, with a stunning outdoor patio and a thoughtfully designed interior that creates such a welcoming vibe. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the food itself is excellent — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The only reason I can’t give it 5 stars is the pricing. For fairly modest portions, three dishes and an iced coffee brought the bill to $69 with tip. While the quality is undeniable, the value for portion size just didn’t quite balance out. Still, if you’re looking for a beautiful spot with great food and atmosphere, it’s absolutely worth experiencing.
View on GoogleHad an amazing first experience at this hidden gem. The food and service were top tier. I brought our foster pup Cali and the barista gave her one of their homemade treats (eggs, sweet potatoes and can’t remember the other ingredient). Cutest little patio out front that had fresh herbs in it which is such a great idea. We will definitely be back!
