View on GoogleVolunteers make this happen. If you're interested in trying pistol sport shooting, this is your only option in Southern Ontario and even if you're hesitant they make you feel safe and at home. Tuesday nights are for walk ins no experience or equipment necessary. Just you, your fee and proper picture ID. Check their website for details but you can't leave here disappointed. Maybe you'll be the volunteer one day making a great evening for someone new too.
View on GoogleJust went to the Pinecrest gun club and shot a handgun for the first time in my life. This was an absolutely fantastic experience. The Tuesday night open night is very well organized with the appropriate attention to safety and basics taught first, followed by an opportunity to shoot 50 rounds from a pistol. It's run 100% by volunteers, and during shooting each newbie gets their own dedicated 'spotter'. I guess the level of instruction probably varies with the personality and experience of the volunteer assigned to you, but my spotter was absolutely fabulous. He gave me adjustments and instruction every step of the way, resulting in at least 13 shots in the middle of the target in the second round (out of 25). And all this for just 20 bucks. An absolute steal, highly educational, and a very interesting activity. Definitely, definitely, definitely go here if you're thinking about trying out a firearm.
View on GoogleSuper friendly instructors (members). They make you feel very welcome and safe while you are there. I highly recommend this place for first time shooters or someone looking for a new club to join.
View on GoogleIt was the most fun I've had a.A while. They take you through a 30 minute safety course, showing you how to make a gun safe and how to reload one as well. After that they then put you on the range to shoot about 25 rounds then show where you can improve, after that you shoot another 25 rounds for round 2. All of this only costs you $20 on a Tuesday night for new shooters
