On Side Restoration Services

We love working with Nicholaus McKay and the team at Onside Restoration Niagara! Always professional, organized, and a pleasure to be on-site with. They make every project smooth and easy — a really great group to partner with for restoration work.

We were sent the OnSide team from Intact insurance. We had a fire which caused over 300k in damages at our home. The team was very reassuring at first and we felt confident with their plan, but dealing with OnSide was very frustrating after that. They worked through our claim for over 2 years. Comminication was poor. The handling of our personal belongings was was poor and they lost or misplaced many items. The contractors they hired were hit and miss. Many parts of the work was not completed to code. We ended up firing and moving on from them midway through the process. Would not recommend.

Absolutely garbage company, lost everything that had a sentimental value to me with zero compensation for my loss, did shitty work on my home and left a mess I had to clean up. Nails and metal all over my yard and left an unsafe structure in my backyard and I had to clean it up and take it down before allowing my children play in the backyard! Would never wish this on anyone and hope no one chooses them to do the cleanup after a disaster happens in their homes!!

This company especially Rob is the most unprofessional employee I have ever encountered in my life. He is focused more on getting the money from me and my neighbor, even though I am willing to send the money already. He told me that a permit is needed for an 8ft fence but Niagara Falls allow a fence as high as even 8.5ft. He will never call you, you have to call him and will hang up the phone, when you tell him your side of the story. Hey Rob, you better find a new job or you better learn how to be a professional. People, avoid this company at all cost. As far as I am alive, I will provide negative feedback about this company. Avoid avoid avoid.

After some flooding occured in our home, we were redirected by our insurance company, Intact , to Robb at On Side. Things started on a good note as Robb came and assessed the damage and informed us he would send us the contract so work could begin and they could remove floors to start the process. After 2 weeks and multiple attempts to reach Robb, he finally called back after our insurance adjuster contacted him. He had sent the contract to the wrong email address and didnt attempt to return our multiple missed phone calls in a timely manner. He informed me that if I signed the contract, they would come out and start the drying process almost 3 weeks after the fact. Not sure if you guys know how water works, but i dont think drying something up 3 weeks later will do a whole lot! As a general contractor myself, i knew this would cause further issues by letting the water sit for this extended period of time. Once recieving a second opinion it is now confirmed that our floors are no longer salvagable and we have to now replace over 2800 sqft of flooring in our entire home as well as the other damage this has caused including extensive drywall damage in my basement ceilings, damaged trim and door casings, damaged laundry room cabinets, damaged electrical. I am beyond frustrated and would never recommend On Side to anyone.
