Nova Phoenix Counselling Services

I had a really great experience with Nova Phoenix! The counsellors are kind, professional, and make you feel comfortable right away. It’s a very supportive and non-judgmental space, and I always left sessions feeling more positive and understood. A bonus is that Kevin and Toby, the owners two cockapoos, are often hanging around — which I absolutely love! They add such a warm, comforting touch to the space. I would definitely recommend Nova Phoenix to anyone looking for counselling support.

Just walking into the office brings a sense of comfort. It is a warm, safe, welcoming space; staffed with kind and caring professionals.

I found this experience to be a waste of my time and money. I had a student counselor in which I had to pay $20 an appointment for. I paid $200 for 10 sessions of 50 minutes. I was told on the third session that it was a student with no experience. I continued on anyway to give it a chance. I feel like I got no help from the counselor. She just mostly answered what I said with yes or aha. Only to be informed on the 10th session that she would be leaving and I would have to start over with a new counselor. My notes would be passed on to the new counselor. I am not a piece of paper and the repour I built would have to start over at my cost or continue on with the recently graduated student at a triple fee of now $60 instead of $20 for a graduate with minimal experience only from a practicum. I found this experience to be a total waste of time and my money. I do not find I was given full transparency as these details were given to me throughout the therapy. Definitely a big let down. I certainly would not recommend them. Seek out yourself a qualified therapist with experience who is not going to disappear when they graduate school.
