Nickel Beach in Port Colborne is one of Lake Erie’s best-known sandy beaches, perfect for a fun and relaxing summer day. The beach is long, clean, and has soft sand with shallow, warm water that’s great for swimming. One of its unique features is that you can drive your car right onto the sand with a day pass, making it easy to set up for picnics or family outings. There’s plenty of space to spread out, and the atmosphere is friendly and laid-back. Washrooms and garbage facilities are available, and staff keep the area well-maintained. It can get busy on weekends, so arriving early is smart. The sunsets here are absolutely beautiful, adding the perfect ending to a beach day.

Nickel Beach in Port Colborne is one of the few places in Ontario where you can actually drive your car right onto the sand. The beach is wide, clean, and has soft sand with shallow water that’s great for swimming. It’s a fun, laid-back spot for families, groups, or anyone looking for that classic summer beach vibe. There are portable washrooms and food trucks nearby in peak season. Parking fees apply, and it can get busy on hot weekends, but the energy is great and the sunsets are incredible.

Nickel Beach is a popular Lake Erie destination known for its long stretch of sandy shoreline and relaxed, drive-up beach access. Visitors can park directly on the sand (seasonal permit required), making it convenient for families and groups. The water is shallow and warm in summer, ideal for swimming and paddleboarding. There are portable washrooms and occasional food trucks, but amenities are minimal—bring your own shade and supplies. It’s busiest on weekends, with a mix of locals and tourists. A laid-back beach with great views and easy access, especially for day trips.

Great beach, plenty of parking...close to entrance if you get there early. Can get a little loud with the music from different groups especially on weekends . Overall it's still very nice beach

Went to Nickel Beach. The beach is not very clean. Parking can be an issue on weekends. Parking is paid, and there is an option for paying through the website. 1st lot is for people preparing the ticket, 2nd lot is for residents of the area. 3rd lot is for people visiting the beach. In the beginning, you will find a lot of algae in the water, Once you move deeper into the water it's clean water but you need to be careful as there are huge rocks and they can hurt you. There is a play area in the water and it's for $50. Hardly any shade so umbrellas or tents are recommended. Recommend for visit
