I don't usually go to Metro but they seem to have good prices and I was looking for hot sauce and ended up buying two bottles of Franks extra hot sauce, and two bottles of Lola's ghost pepper hot sauce for my chicken wings. Not bad but still like hotter, Lol. And the store wasn't over crowded and the girl that cashed me out was very pleasant, I'll be going back for sure!
View on GoogleUPDATED BELOW This review is for the meat department. They need to hire a new butcher. The steaks have never looked the way they currently do at this location (Lakeshore Road). They are mangled and unevenly cut. The sales are a joke, the meat in general is still more expensive than ever, especially in comparison to other grocery stores. Why are they selling Australian beef (still poorly cut and expensive I might add) rather than canadian beef??? One of the butchers informed me that it's because it is lower quality beef and cheaper cuts. Not what it used to be. UPDATE: Went to buy lettuce that clearly had a 2.99 tag in front of it. It was a full section right when you enter the store. I go to cash out and it comes up as 4.99. I tell the self checkout lady. She checks the product and comes back to tell me they left the Avocado tag in front of the lettuce so its 4.99. I asked if they were going to honor the the price and she tells me no its 4.99. How many people already bought it thinking it was 2.99?!?! You really couldn't give me the marked price?!?! Ridiculous. UPDATE: Cooked steak for dinner tonight and had to throw most of it out. It was basically all fat holding bits of meat together. This was from last week's "sale" on sirloin tip family packs. So incredibly disappointed, especially given today's economy. People do not have money to waste like this.
View on GoogleI don't usually shop at metro, but the bakery is phenomenal! They are more affordable than any other place I have come across for quality desserts. Ever since my husband and I had our son we have ordered his custom birthday cakes from the Lakeshore Metro Bakery, and they have never disappointed. Theresa the Head Decorator is fabulous, she listens to our requests and lets us know what is in her capabilities. We always make sure to bring our own toys or specific candies for the cake to make our orders possible and easier on the bakery, but they really knock it out of the park on flavours, quality, and making our vision come to reality. Thank you so much to everyone at the Metro and Metro Bakery that helps us makes our sons birthdays spectacular!
View on GoogleFirst time shopping here and overall great experience! Sushi was fresh and the servings were great! The meat is SUPER generous! I love the packs you can get there and the staff is nice besides some of the cashiers who could be nicer but still great! Definitely coming back.
View on GoogleFriendly and helpful staff. Produce, Meats Fish and Bakery are all very fresh. Keep on eye out for sales in their flyers. Self Checkout available. Air miles accepted. Clean store. Well lit. Check out are usually pretty quick. Free WiFi. Overpriced. Be careful in the parking lot. The layout makes it difficult to navigate at the entrance and exit either by foot or vehicle.
