Where do I begin? If I could give 0 stars, I would. Like many other people’s comments about this company—it’s absolutely shameful they are still in business. For starters, communication in the beginning was great until it wasn’t. Between Jack, the owner, and John, the wannabe owner, neither of which have been able to get their story straight. With screenshots and convos saved from both of them contradicting each other. First and foremost we were promised river rock and specific grading (to the point Jack spray-painted exactly where the grading would be). Long story short, the grading was not even close, and when confronting Jack about it, he agreed his guys don’t have a clue what they are doing (I have Facebook chat proof as well as text communications), not to mention John, the wannabe owner, said that line was only put there for reference. This was just one of many lies told during our entire experience with this company. Another thing promised was a retaining wall, but no wall was installed. I asked John about it directly after calling him back to my house, and he proceeded to look me right in my face and say, “There is a retaining wall underneath.” Come to find out after I told them to dig with a shovel at the spot—no such retaining wall existed—they flat out lied. To their credit, they did come back and pour a retaining wall, only because I made such a big stink about it. Once the pool was “completed,” our backyard sat as a mud pile for over two and a half weeks without the rock or grading promised. When I asked Jon, his exact words were “We are not landscapers.” Funny enough, they were landscapers when they took my deposit and agreed to river rock and grading, no problem. Again, more of the same deflecting and lies. We now noticed that underneath the pool liner, we can feel shoe imprints in the bottom of the flooring when walking/swimming. Not to mention a chunk of concrete out of the border of our pool made by one of their “air blower” pieces of equipment. We also have concrete chipping all along our staircase into the house. When confronted with these things, Jon said, “Don’t worry; we will be back next spring to fix everything, but we have to pay the outstanding balance of 3000.” When we have already given them 72,500 dollars, the last thing we are going to do is keep giving these guys money for things that shouldn’t have been broken in the first place. I said we would give the money, no problem, when the things they promised are fixed, to which John said they would not be back and are taking away our 1-year warranty. STAY AWAY!!! I wish we didn’t give them the last installment. Also, I have screenshots of absolutely ALL of this. Should have listened to other reviewers and people who warned of these guys. Between their workers drinking beer everyday on the job, to flicking cigarettes all over the property. Shameful.*********EDIT TO OWNERS RESPONSE. We absolutely took pictures and videos along the way AND posted given the fact how excited we were for our new backyard, and also giving Malibu Pools the benefit of the doubt. The problem lies in the finished product. The finished product is NOWHERE NEAR what was promised. Not to mention asking for more money in the form of a partial payment is the definition of insanity. After all the lies told, why in the world would we trust you to come back next year. How about finish the job right the first time!

I was having issues with a competitor and not getting any answers or follow up to the point I started looking for another pool company to finish my in-ground pool after months of delay. A few phone conversations with John and he had answers for me and a solution should my contractor not get my pool finished. John was professional and kept his word. Highly recommend Malibu Pools.

Two generations of dedicated service from Jack and the team at Malibu. Fair pricing, on time as promised and the whole team over delivered from install, opening and follow up. Save your time, Malibu is all you need and you will not be disappointed.

Malibu installed our pool at the end of last summer (2024). We were so happy with how it turned out! The process was so quick and seamless. They were great from the designing process to the installation. We have gotten so many compliments on the shape of our pool which was recommended by Malibu. They answered all of our questions and even went through how to clean and take care of the pool with us once it was complete. Our experience was great, would recommend them to anyone thinking of putting in a pool this summer!

The staff here are always very helpful and friendly. The water tests and advice that is provided is very helpful when getting your pool back in shape after the winter months. We recently purchased 1.5 inch unions and a replacement back wash line from them. We will be back.
