I have bought quite a few items, most times it’s hit and miss on their descriptions, but lately it’s been ALL miss. It’s obvious that they either don’t inspect the items or they are just listing them incorrectly to get more interest. ERROR ON THE SIDE OF CAUTION WHEN BIDDING ON COLLECTABLES AND ANTIQUES.
View on GoogleI bought a listed “like new” nut milk maker from Luke’s and assumed “like new” meant it worked or had been tested. It does not work and it just flashes with the error code being “send for repair”. I am a new bidder and did not check the machine out right away until I ran out of milk and tried to use the machine for the first time. I reached out via email with video proof asking for a credit or another working milk maker as they had 2 in their current auction with no bids. They said since it had been over 24 hours, they would do nothing for me. “We have no control over who reads the terms or not but lots of people don't read them before they bid which is very frustrating for us. The 24 hour rule is there because we don't know where the item goes after it leaves our building and the longer it is gone makes it more susceptible to any kind of damage”. I know Luke’s Auctions is very busy, goes through and sells a ton of stuff and it could be easy to over look an item, plug this in, see it flash and think it works or maybe no one tested it all together. This box had sat on my kitchen island untouched since I picked it up - it had not been susceptible to any kind of damage. All I was asking for was a one time exception to do right by Luke’s Auctions advertising error but they stopped answering me. The milk maker was only $10 plus taxes and fees so it really wouldn’t have been a big loss to just credit me and keep me as a happy customer that always checks her pick ups within 24 hours lol. Anyways, I’ve gotten other things I’ve been happy with from the auctions, and I’m sure I’ll get more - but this situation rubbed me the wrong way. I’m glad it was a cheap loss. Check your items folks!!!
View on GoogleThey make good use of the online auction since COVID and easy payment pick up and delivery but be aware of the 18% buyers premium tacked on to each sale. It can incredibly raise a price to the point it is the same as buying new. Always friendly staff and can always find good deals.
View on GoogleProbably one of the best in Ontario. The best on Line Auction in Niagara Region. I bid on some Baseball cards that ended up being reprints. I spoke to Sue and Luke. Great customer service. I asked for a credit, but they fully refunded my amount. WOW.... You definitely can't go wrong biding on this site.
View on GoogleI’ve bought many things over the years and always been very happy. I recently purchased a mattress and brought it home, unloaded it and noticed mold in a pretty large patch on the side. Things from there are not always perfect and I know this. The mattress had some dirt ontop which was not an issue. I called and notified them about the mold and they basically said it was inspected and no mold was seen so that’s it. It’s just very unfortunate for me because like I said I’ve purchesed many things and know that they are not perfect but the fact that it had mold on it and they didn’t care was very disappointing to me. I unfortunately will not be back. (In response to owners response) It’s currently sitting on my front lawn waiting for the garbage truck as I have no use for a mattress with mold. I offered to bring it in yesterday when you guys were there so you could take a look and that was not an option. I will leave pictures that I took so you can see. I am not a complainer and understand as I said that things are not in perfect condition. And I also understand how it may have been overlooked but when I call and make you aware of a issue that i would of hoped you would have been concerned with, the least you could have done was take a look at it. I would have even been happy with a credit to use at the auction at a future time. It’s also really sad to me being a business owner myself that I had to leave this review and get a response that should have happened in the first place.
