want to share my experience with LandArt in hopes it helps others feel more prepared before committing to a project. I originally approached LandArt for a backyard project, but due to weather, we agreed to begin with a smaller job—renovating my studio’s sports basement. This gave us a chance to assess their work before moving forward with the larger backyard build. To be completely fair: the workers themselves delivered excellent craftsmanship. They were respectful, skilled, and I would genuinely give them 5 stars for their execution. Where everything fell apart was leadership and communication, which unfortunately deserves 1 star. My most important request was to maximize every inch of space. While they did condense the mechanical room nicely, the one non-negotiable I repeatedly communicated was to remove the insulation so I could gain about a foot around the entire perimeter. When the framing was halfway done, I pointed out that we were losing roughly 100 sq ft. Instead of listening, I was met with a series of explanations attempting to persuade me otherwise. Despite me being extremely clear—and adamant—about removing the insulation, they went ahead and completed the framing and soundproofing exactly as originally planned. Nothing I communicated ever made it from “D” to the workers. Everything had to go through an app that constantly glitched, and the project continued against my wishes. It was incredibly disappointing to feel unheard in my own home project. The backyard project also never took off. The design became unnecessarily complicated, and basic fundamentals—like sun position during sunrise and sunset—were overlooked. In their renderings, they even created artificial lighting that misrepresented how the space would actually feel. As a creative, this was frustrating. We were also under the impression that the design was being developed by someone on their team, only to later discover “D” was actually doing the design himself while presenting it as if someone else was involved. It felt misleading and left us feeling undervalued. At that point, we decided to review the estimate line by line. After calling multiple suppliers, we discovered markups as high as 600%. Thankfully, we did our due diligence early and terminated the project before moving forward. My advice to future clients: • Do not disclose your full budget up front. • Get multiple estimates. • Ask very clearly about how communication works and who actually makes decisions. • And most importantly, request written sign-off for every single item you care about, so nothing is overlooked or ignored. Their workers truly are great. But a company is only as strong as its leadership, transparency, and communication—and that is where our experience fell short.
View on GoogleAs a supplier and subcontractor for LandArt for many years, I have nothing but good things to say. Alexis, Dave and all the crews on site are all about keeping things on track and doing the best for their client. I have supplied windows and doors as well as glass work for many jobs and LandArt makes sure that the client is informed at the start of the job and pleased at the end.
View on GoogleWe had the pleasure of working with LandArt for a major landscaping renovation at our home residence and we couldn’t be happier with the results! Richard, the owner, was fantastic to communicate with, and Ian and Dave did an incredible job on-site. They transformed our space with beautiful beds, stunning stone features, lighting, irrigation, and lush plantings. The outdoor kitchen they built is absolutely gorgeous, and the large pavilion structures made from Douglas fir and cedar add a warm, natural touch. What really stood out was that they stayed on budget and were flexible, working with us to complete the project in multiple phases based on our schedule. The entire team was professional, detail-oriented, and truly passionate about their craft. We highly recommend LandArt for anyone looking to elevate their outdoor space.
View on GoogleWow, just wow! Our experience with Landart was nothing short of phenomenal. We started with a blank slate for a backyard and zero ideas. Then we met Devon. He was more than amazing—he was a patient listener and a creative genius who designed a space that surpassed our wildest dreams. The best part? He did it all while respecting our very tight budget. Devon worked his magic to find smart, cost-effective solutions that never felt like a compromise. The whole team was fantastic, keeping us in the loop every step of the way with clear schedules and proactive communication. We are so in love with our new backyard. Do not hesitate to hire Landart! We will 100% be calling them again. Thank you for everything! C & K
View on GoogleRichard and his team are exceptional! Every aspect of our backyard project were very well managed and executed- from help with ideas (both practical and functional)to making sure everything went to plan (timeline and budget). My husband and I were extremely impressed with the LandArt Team! Before this project was complete we knew we would contact LandArt to work on our next project.
