J Tummillo Contracting Inc

Joe Tummillo (my boyfriend at the time who I lived with for over 3 1/2 years) and his company J Tummillo Contracting Inc. did my driveway for me. This past March, it became apparent that the driveway was defective. There are huge holes and chips and missing pieces. I contacted the concrete company (LaFarge) who sent out one of their quality control inspectors who informed me that the driveway had not been cured properly, had not been sealed, and other problems with the way the concrete was handled once it was poured. When I contacted Joe he agreed to come look at it and informed me that it was “salt damage”. BUT if I wanted him to rip it out and redo it, he would. Since then, he has ignored my requests to fix the driveway, and in fact now flat out refuses to do so. I am still hoping there will be some sort of satisfactory resolution to this as I paid $18,000.00 CASH for the driveway, but it looks like I am going to have to sue him in court. The papers have already been drawn up and I will be taking both him and his company to court for defective workmanship. Update: I have issued a claim in Small Claims Court against Joe personally and the company. Joe has refused service 3 times like the coward he is. The last time I tried to serve him he called the police and wanted me charged with trespassing. When I told the TWO officers I was just trying to serve him documents, their demeanor completely changed and they offered a few suggestions on how to get him served. The male officer actually CALLED JOE and told him I was there to serve him (which Joe KNEW) and asked him to just accept the service and it would be done. Joe refused to do so, obviously, because he’s a coward. And he knows I’m going to WIN. but that’s fine. Luckily I know the court system well, since I worked at a lawyers office for 15+ years. Anyway, at least the corporation was served and soon Joe will be too and we can get things rolling in court. Do not deal with this guy. He is bad news bears. In EVERY WAY POSSIBLE.
