I am a 70-year-old woman living alone. On December 31st, 2025 my Carrier-brand furnace stopped working while the outside temperature was minus 10 degrees Celsius. I called J&S Company for repair service. A worker came and said a part needed to be replaced, but they did not have the part available and asked me to wait until the following week, which left me at the risk of being frozen. I have to contacted godman The yellow paper the worker showed to me on Dec.31st shows no payment amount, nor did the worker explain to me that I need to pay later. Jan 22 J&S sent a invoice of $673.76. I complained the unsolved problem and the number of hours listed on the invoice (2.5 hours), which I believe is incorrect. I have records on my phone showed the exact hours. The lady in the complaint department was very rude. She refused my inquiry of breakdown the amount, and said the invoice is the way J&S has written for years, no change, no correction and no adjustment. She mentioned many times that I have used another contractor. I am surprised that when J&S could not solve my problem, I could not call another contractor, even if I was at risk of freezing to death with the outside tempreture minors 10? I sent an email to the service manager I am waiting for reply.
View on GoogleHere it is the night before New Years Eve and our furnace stopped working.. Temperature outside -12. We woke up and immediately call J & S Heating. They took our information and even though they were closed for the holiday, there technician called and told me he would be here at a certain time. He arrived recognized the problem and fixed it all within an hour. I must say they are very professional and Owen explained everything that caused the problem. Owen is a very diligent and friendly young man. Thank you J & S Chuck Thorne
View on GoogleGot an evaporator replaced and asked for reason of failure so that I could forward it to insurance. They initially refrained to provide me with a reason but told my insurance that it was wear and tear at which point my insurance claim was refused. They are not qualified to provide a forensics reason of failure but still did so. Kellie the owner said that she had not even heard of mechanical forensics. When I tried to pursue it with her she flatly refused to retract the statement stating it would be insurance fraud and cut my conversation short. I believe fraud is to provide a reason when not qualified to do so. The reason of failure may well have been wear and tear but they are neither qualified nor obliged to provide a reason. Caused my insurance to not pay out. I would not retain them for any work whatsoever.
View on GoogleHave a full part and labour warranty until 2029. The following will tell you all you need to know. And yet again they send me an invoice. I am coved under warranty for any and all service related to both my furnace and thermostat. First time you called me you stated there was a communication error with the system and if it happened again you would need to send someone to inspect it. A few weeks later you said it happened again (according to you ) and would need to inspect it. I asked if it was covered under warranty and was told yes(although I shouldn't have needed to ask as I have a 10 year warranty). Your service man showed up, inspected it and found nothing. You nonetheless sent me a bill for this and upon complaining was told that because the service person found nothing that Carrier would not pay and I would have to. No. Not true. I am covered under warranty. If the system says there is something wrong and you can't find it. Not my problem. You called and said you had to inspect it. I find it offensive that you would try and pull this underhanded tactic with me.
View on GoogleI had our furnace and AC replaced and am very happy with the service. The technicians were very polite and professional. It took two days to finish the install and they did not leave until they were finished which was after 7 pm. The work site was cleaned up and ceiling panels that needed to be moved were replaced. Very highly recommended.
