Iron Chef

This used to be one of my favourite places. Unfortunately went on my lunch break today (Oct.4/24) and they were completely emptied out and closed up. No notice whatsoever. Just up and closed within days. Hours were always unreliable but now it's gone for good.

Service is good but the food is bad, she cooked the second time for me but still needed to put it in the garbage. Can't eat it. Waste money never again 😒

Probably the best (I know when it comes to food, using the word best is very subjective) fast-food type Teriyaki I've tried the last 10 years or so. I stumbled on this restaurant at the truck stop about a year ago, while visiting Niagara On The Lake and nature insisted I visited a bathroom before hitting the QEW. Today I go out of my way when I'm in the area to grab a plate of their teriyaki chicken (chicken, rice and vegetable). The staff are very polite and shows pride in their food/cooking. The portions are excellent and while other places (especially in the malls) charge extra for onions, mushrooms and extra sauce, it's included with the meals. The chicken and vegetables are freshly cooked in front of you (so there's a 5-10 minute wait). They cook the chicken (finishing stages) with the combination of soy and teriyaki sauces, so the chicken is deep and rich with flavor. I dislike when restaurants don't include the teriyaki in the cooking process and only use it as a topping or garnish. Should you want it a bit spicy (teriyaki can have a sweet undertone), ask for 'spicy' when ordering. Tip! Make use of the tables and chairs and try to eat it fresh. Today I brought it home with me (45 min drive) and while it was still excellent, I found that the steam from being packaged hot, created moisture which watered down the overall flavor.
