Irish Design

Extremely nice Irish clothing especially sweaters. Excellent selection. The service was a little awkward. I really wasn't looking for help but someone who may have been the owner chose to help me and it felt a little awkward when I decided not to make a purchase.

Purchased two beautifully knit Aran wool sweaters today. We always love coming to Irish Design. Amazing quality Irish made clothing and products and super friednly and knowledgeable staff who are always willing to help!

Irish Design has the loveliest, most unique, and outrageously beautiful items from Ireland. The quality of apparel has no comparison. Treat yourself, treat your spouse or partner to quality, that will last for many years. You’re worth it.. so come in, take your time, and walk out with the item or items that will stand out for you.

Irish Design showcases some of the most sustainable and high quality clothing that you are likely to find anywhere in the province or frankly anywhere in North America. But it comes at a cost. Even with sales, garments handmade of fine wool (for example) can climb into the 3-500 CAD range. This is the true cost of wearing things made by gainfully employed people in an industrialized market. It’s very cool to find things literally made in Ireland, for example - or Norway. In this area that’s quite rare. You’ll even find waxed canvas/cotton, the sustainable alternative to waterproof plastic clothing. Staff are helpful and attentive but won’t bother you if you’re just browsing around. Really really an exceptional focus on quality with an eye for the higher price tags. Not much “summer wear” either, lots of gear for colder weather. Perhaps this led to a few more things being on sale than usual when we visited in summer. Worth a stop just to get a feel for some truly impressively well sourced and well built textiles, although of course the style won’t be for everyone. Impressive to see a place like this on this side of the Atlantic. Really lovely. (If you can’t tell, I dig sustainability and so there’s lots to enjoy if you’re into things being sourced well and made ethically of high quality materials here)

Beautiful store, very wide selection of coats, sweaters, hats, etc. Went in-person a while ago and ordered a coat online afterwards. Shipping was free and it came in just two days to Guelph. Everything was packaged perfectly and it even had a hand-written thank you card. Thank you for your help, Jen!
