IHOP birthday visit 🥞 My partner took me here for my birthday… and later told me the bill was around $50 total for my birthday meal, his coffee, and my juice. I ordered the platter and honestly… it was underwhelming. The experience: - Food didn’t match the price - Pancakes were just okay - Syrup options were the flavored kind — no real maple syrup - Drinks felt pricey for what you get - Tip options on the machine start at 18% The “bottomless pancakes” are there, but I didn’t feel super comfortable asking for refills. The server wasn’t rude — just didn’t seem very happy to be there. Atmosphere: The interior felt dated and a bit tired. Gave strong old diner / cafeteria energy. Value check: For what you pay, it just didn’t hit. There are definitely better breakfast spots out there for the same price (in our opinion). I visited IHOP in Canada for the first time. The food was fresh, hot, and exactly what we were craving. Our server: Bonnie was amazing, very attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. She kept checking on us without being intrusive. Excellent service and a wonderful start to our day. We’ll definitely be back!

The medium rare T bone steak I ordered came out very close to being well done (this probably wont even pass as medium well as most of the meat is already well done). The waitress repeated my order, so I know she got it right, and the bill shows it “medium rare” as well (the kitchen got it wrong). Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to have it redone/changed, based on the tome it took the order to come to my table, so I had to eat my eggs and pancakes, leaving the meat behind, and still pay the full bill 🤦‍♀️ 🤦‍♀️ 🤦‍♀️.

Came down by myself first thing in the morning on a snowy day - coffee came out hot, food came out promptly and hot, my server Bonnie was lovely, and there were sports highlights on the TV - what more can a guy ask for!? 😃 Great way to start the day. My compliments to Ryan who prepared the meal in the kitchen- thank you for the great meal and the great service, everyone.
