In a time of grief and lots of emotions, Mandie at Hulse and English Funeral home supported us through every step with compassion and understanding. She was extremely responsive and provided lots of options to help us personalize the service for our loved one. On the day of, she added personal small touches to the chapel and took care of everything so we could focus on remembering and celebrating our loved one. I would highly recommend Hulse and English.

This place is so wonderful. They were so efficient, professional and kind. I felt like they really listened to us and were very fair about everything. Lisa was amazing and always there for us.

I had a disappointing experience with Hulse & English Funeral Home & Chapel. When my mother’s health started to decline, I called to make arrangements ahead of time. I was told to “wait until she passes,” even though the nursing home advised me to plan early. I pushed to move forward, and thankfully we were able to. My mother passed 5 days later, and the pickup from the nursing home was handled properly. Where things really fell apart was communication. Emails weren’t answered, names were spelled wrong (including mine), and even after I confirmed my mom’s correct middle name, the wrong one kept being used. I was also making arrangements from Toronto, so clear communication was extremely important—but that seemed to be the biggest issue. One of the hardest moments was seeing my mom without her wedding ring. Her hands had been swollen earlier, but no one asked if I wanted it put back on. When I asked about it, the answer was basically, “We forgot.” That was painful to hear. The service also felt unorganized. Father Franco wasn’t given a microphone or water, and many people in the chapel couldn’t hear him. At the cemetery, we needed umbrellas and there was very little help in organizing during a rain day. These small details might seem minor, but on an emotional day, they made everything harder. On top of all this, I’m still dealing with issues around the prepayment charges. I provided my correct billing address—it was printed right on my business card and was specially mentioned—yet they used something completely different. It’s been an ongoing frustration. While some staff members were kind, the overall experience was stressful during a time when compassion, organization, and good communication matter most. I can’t recommend them based on what I went through.

I have been singing the praises of Hulse & English Funeral Home for the outstanding job their team did during the recent passing of my husband. Their Afterlife program reduced my stress level immeasurably by handling the necessary government paperwork along with their handy guide. Their cremation services are explained in detail and provided me with trust in the process. Moreover, H&E offer bereavement travel services and a 24 hour hot-line for family members. I will be forever grateful to their team and recommend highly their services to ease the pain of the death of a loved one.
