Hands down the best clinic in the region. Could not recommend heartland enough to anyone looking for a great vet. The staff have been a dream to work with. Our previous vets have been very hesitant and unwilling to work with our American bully, and this couldn’t be further from the case here. Big shoutout to one tech in particular, Crystina, for treating our pup so great and educating us along the way. Could not be any happier with heartland and the help they provided for our big boy. Thank you !!

Its taken me a few weeks (3 weeks today, to be exact), to be able to write these words. From the very bottom of my heart; thank you for your kindness to our Zeusy on all visits but, especially on his final visit. Your compassion, your thoughtfulness was so very appreciated. And tonight, opening the card you sent with the most beautiful ink prints of his paws & nose. Losing Zeusy was the absolute worst pain, to have these little keepsakes is just the sweetest thing you could have sent us. Thank you♥️

My dear baby rat died only 5 hours after receiving treatment. I brought her in because of what I suspected were mites (ended up being rat lice). Other than those, she was a healthy, active girl, eating & drinking, running around right up to the time of treatment. She was given topical Revolution on the back of her neck which I was told would do the trick. Over the next five hours, my baby girl went down hill FAST. She didn't eat or drink, couldn't hold herself up (literally limp), her breathing became labourers and slow. Hour 5 she died in my hands. A rat who was entirely healthy that afternoon. I am positive it was a result of the medication, whether an overdose from her tiny size, or from consumption. I paid nearly $200 for my sweet pet to become free of the lice, not for her to be dead. I am beyond heartbroken and angry.

I truly cannot say enough good things about this clinic and the staff that work here. I have 4 pets but my cat, Kiwi, spent a lot of time at this clinic over these last few years with the staff and I working tirelessly trying to fix her never ending skin problems and excessive over grooming that impacted her quality of life for far too long. The amount of care this clinic has shown me and Kiwi over these last few years has rendered me speechless, they treated Kiwi like she was their own and they were always so kind to me. I truly felt valued and cared for On Monday October 27th I made the incredibly difficult and heartbreaking decision to put Kiwi down because nothing was working and we tried everything but it was at the point that it was no longer fair to force her to live the way she was living. Through this painful time, the assistants, techs and vets were so compassionate and handled everything beautifully. If you want a veterinarian team that truly cares for your pets, come here. The day after Kiwis passing, I received a stunning bouquet of flowers from Heartland. This last Tuesday I received a card in the mail with Kiwis prints which just made my heart swell, and it had been signed by everyone at the clinic. This was already more than I could have asked for but just this last evening, I received a letter in the mail from The University of Guelph that said Heartland Niagara Animal Hospital had made a donation in honour of Kiwi to The OVC Pet Trust that works hard to provide numerous studies that help advance pet health. Their goal is to help other pets like Kiwi, and so this genuinely means everything to me and I hope it takes us one step closer to making sure this doesn’t happen to someone else. I truly love this clinic and everyone in it, they have gone above and beyond for Kiwi and all of my pets. I feel nothing but love and gratitude for the staff here and I will forever recommend this clinic to everyone I know. I have seen other reviews about how “expensive” and “money hungry” this clinic is compared to others but all I have to say to them is that unfortunately, that is the cost of owning animals. I know I struggled too but at the end of the day, pets are expensive, and if you can’t afford to care for their health then you should not have a pet, and that is NOT the fault of people who just want to see your pets healthy and happy. Please be kind to your veterinarian staff, they deal with a lot more than people think they do 🫶 I leave you with my favourite pictures of my girl and all of these beautiful things The Heartland Team has done for me ❤️

The vets and techs at Heartland are incredible! They show so much love to my pets, and so much care and respect to us as owners. I always feel like they take the time to explain everything to us so we understand and can make educated decisions on the care of our pets. I recommend them to everyone!
