UPDATE: We ended up getting our taxes done here regardless of my previous review. Big mistake. We not only had to sit through an exhaustive life story and bad jokes with the person who did our taxes but we were there far too long due to this. The fee was very high. He stated he would help with my spouse’s disability rebate and combine the taxes so I wouldn’t have to pay monies owing via my spouse’s credit. NONE of that happened. My spouse kept checking her CRA account to see if action had been taken. As of last month, August, nothing. Plus I still had to pay over $600. The only contact info, after tax season, available was the address to the head office in Welland so my spouse sent a letter which was returned as undeliverable. So she ended up completing all the paperwork herself through CRA. What a crock this guy was and a definite bad example representing H&R Block. PREVIOUS REVIEW: I’m sure the accountants here are great but wouldn’t know that yet since the first encounter with the female person who greeted my spouse at the door. Not having been there before, the hours were not known but Google stated a 9 am opening. This person bluntly said she didn’t care what Google stated, they didn’t open until 11 am. When my spouse tried to explain that it was difficult enough to find the office as a disabled person, the response was that she already had 3 calls from disabled people “so you’re not anymore special than they are”. Wow. Not sure we want to give our business to this office given this first encounter.

Had my taxes done today by Bertha at Port Colborne H&R block, and she was an absolutely wonderful lady. Bertha was very friendly and carried a smile the whole visit. I had a small anxiety attack while sitting there and told her so ,and Bertha never made me feel out of place which helped me get through it quicker. Thank you Bertha for being you. Hope to see you again next year! 😊

Always my dedicated H&R Block location for taxes. George has been my go to for many years and has always done an exceptional job with helping me get my return and understand my taxes. I moved to Alberta 2 years ago and I still call up George to not only get my taxes done, but to have a great conversation. Thank You!

If you're going to visit this location I strongly recommend George. He was phenomenal. So pleasant, for you, and knowledgeable. He made doing our taxes enjoyable. He had song references for everything! Most fun I've had doing my taxes ever. Plus it was all good news. I've got nothing bad to say.
