Great Things is honestly one of my favourite shops. Sharon has such a great eye for style and always gives really helpful, honest advice without ever making you feel pressured. The shop is quiet and welcoming, and the staff are lovely and happy to help when you ask. I’ve been shopping here since it opened and still make a point to stop in at least twice a year to pick up beautiful pieces for each season, most of my wardrobe is from here at this point. If you’re in Niagara-on-the-Lake, this is definitely a place you don’t want to miss.
View on GoogleMy partner and I recently visited this shop and unfortunately did not feel welcome. From the moment we entered, the staff’s demeanor made us feel as though we were being closely monitored rather than assisted. It created an uncomfortable atmosphere that ultimately discouraged us from making a purchase. As we were leaving, one employee visibly nodded to another while looking in our direction, which further reinforced the feeling that we were being scrutinized rather than valued as customers. We were prepared to shop and support the business, but instead chose to spend our money elsewhere. I hope management reflects on how important it is for all guests to feel welcomed and respected.
View on GoogleJanuary 3, 2026 @ 12:26pm. I walked into the store and immediately say hi and hello to the woman but she only looked at me with no response. I thought maybe she didn’t hear me, but my husband was right behind me and he said hello ( he has louder voice) and again, with no response. So after that, I said “let’s go” to my husband and walked out the store. This woman looks like the one on the fb and instagram photos. I am Asian and husband is European, both citizens of Canada. We are not rich, but still can afford to buy descent clothes/things.
View on GoogleHusband and I did a day trip from TO to NOTL this past weekend. Came across this store and decided to go in when I noticed that they carried Marc Cain. The staff did not greet us at all, and instead looked us up and down like we were either thieves or could not afford anything there. Btw we are Asian, not sure if race had something to do with it. Had a wonderful and welcoming experience at all the other stores we shopped at.
View on GoogleI am a fashion klutz. Thankfully, my partner suggested that I pop into Great Things a few years ago. With Sharon’s guidance, I’ve been gradually building a new wardrobe with intentional pieces that are versatile and as she says “the easy breezy casual style of NOTL”. Sharon always makes me feel at ease with a respectful, no pressure approach, and I happily walk out with a bag of clothing, knowing that I’ve purchased quality pieces that are timeless and will last for years. I feel like she’s my own personal stylist while I’m there. She and her associates provide honest advice, and if you tell her what you like and don’t like, she’ll find things that work for you. She suggests items that I would not have thought I’d like, until I tried them on. I can’t speak highly enough about my experience at Great Things and with Sharon. I’ll be back again soon.
