Fort Erie Town Hall

The water services in Fort Erie is nothing short of a criminal enterprise. My father died unexpectedly, And after spending three days at his hospital bedside in the ICU, I came home to frozen pipes, which then burst under my home. I have a young daughter and I’m a single mother on a low income. I called the fire department who said they couldn’t help And that I had to call the town. The town demanded $200 to shut it off, Which is nuts in itself. Two days later now that I’ve had the pipe repaired ($500 extra) I have called the city who tells me it will be another $125 to turn it on…. I think the money grab is absolutely disgusting, I am now paying three months worth of bills just for simple shut off, It is the middle of winter and how else does somebody repair something when this happens? I am now out $825 and I still don’t have the water on, The city tells me somebody will come today, but has given me not even any kind of a timeframe, but says somebody needs to be here. I have never seen such a lack of compassion or common sense in any other region, and I will be taking this complaint further

I called to book tickets for Point Albino tour. I just got message that someone will get back within 48 hrs. Is this for real???? I have to wait for 2 days just for this? What about if I won’t be able to answer my phone…then I will have to wait for another 2 days? This is the service our Fort Erie Town Hall is offering to its residents? For all the taxes I pay? Absolutely not acceptable!

I’ve been trying for more than a year to reach out by phone. And leaving voice mail and also by email to reach out the person in charge of the permits and development and I NEVER got any answer ever !!! Is there even someone working on that position??? I like the area but I guess I’ll never buy a land or property there

They certainly go out of their way to hide any and all email contact information. The phone system advises to press 0 and any time to leave a message. It hasn't functioned in several years. Administration violates provincial laws with impunity. In my experienced opinion, an organization serving itself at the expense of the taxpayers.

Only time I've had to go hear was to apply for my marriage license. Staff were super friendly and educated on all info.
