As soon as you walk through the door of Flax and Fire, you feel a sense of calm. It's just such a lovely pottery studio to visit while in NOTL. Textiles, soap and other handmade items are also in the shop. The owner and potter, Christine, is beyond lovely - so welcoming to visitors. And her work - so unique, textured and beautiful. I purchased two vessels during my last visit. My mom and sister have also acquired pieces from Flax and Fire which they treasure. I can't wait to go back to see what other pieces Christine continues to creates.
View on GoogleI can’t offer the words to describe how I feel when I step through the doors of this sanctuary. The artwork is impeccably curated, inviting you to adopt these artists into your life. The variety, the background music, and the esthetics Christine has carefully chosen to display in her space only add to the beauty and spirit of Christine herself. She is always a gem to visit with, causing you to feel welcomed and appreciated no matter you spending $200, $5, or just browsing. Be sure to make this a stop on your journey, pausing to take an artistic breath.
View on GoogleObviously a carefully chosen collection of art and handcrafted works. Pottery, furnishings and accessories that are tactile, contemporary and raw. There were so many things that I wanted to add to my home. I make a point of stopping in to shop, every time I'm in Niagara on the Lake. Love seeing the work in progress and learning about the pieces from the owners and artists.
View on GoogleLovely shop! I enjoyed browsing with my nieces. Everyone went home with a treasure from this shop. Super friendly shopkeeper. Plenty of parking.
View on GoogleToday we had the pleasant experience of visiting a magical space, "Flax and Fire", where the hands of ceramic artists work wonders. We recommend visiting this excellent place, buying one of its wonderful handicrafts and staying with the friendliness, kindness and love with which you will be received during your visit. Many thanks to its owners, especially to Christine McGrath who was kind enough to explain the craftsmanship process, as well as pose for our lens. Thank you, thank you and thank you for her art, for her dedication and for all the love that is breathed in her business. We hope to return to it one day. Blessings. We recommend it 100%.
